Second year in a row that the Big Ten officials bail out UM and screw over Indiana. We all know what happened last year. This year, on DR's 17 yard run on the final drive, an IU linebacker was blatantly held (to the point where he threw both of his arms in the air and was still stuck to the UM defender, in an attempt to show the refs how ridiculously obvious it was), and yet it wasn't called. Instead of UM having a 10 yard penalty and being back at their own 30 or so, they were across midfield. Given the amount of time left in the game, had the correct call been made and UM had to line up at the 30, they might have just taken a knee.

That wasn't the only one that was not called. The refs missed holding all game, on both sides. By the 3rd qtr, I gave up on wondering when the refs would call the blantant tackling the OL was doing on some of those inside runs. Oh well, it is part of the game.

Of course not, but given the timing, it was a call on which the game hinged. Had the call been made (which was proper), the game goes to OT.

It was pretty blatant, but as bad as those defenses were I wouldn't go so far as to say Michigan would have lost had the correct call been made.

It was blatant enough for me to spot it from a bar stool on a medium sized TV that was pretty far away.

I guess my reasoning is that the refs hadn't called it all game, they were at least consistant in the non-call there. Also, I think UM still would have scored, since the IU D (that just sounds funny, heh heh!!) had not figured out the 3 UM running plays all game anyway (DR left, DR right, DR gashes the middle).

just some respect for him not as a football player, but as a human being.. i'm not gonna cheer if i see Pryor get hurt.. that's somebody's son.

Basically I agree with you; however I make a distinction between hurting (i.e. inflecting plain) and injuring someone. Football is a full contact sport and you want to hit the opposing player (legally) as hard as you can to inflict as much pain as you can. When Ohio State plays Michigan I would like to see every contact an Ohio State player with a Michigan player a candidate for the "Jack Tatum hit of the week award". Needless to say when the opposing player is hurting he really doesn't want to get hit again therefore he doesn't play as well as he otherwise would. As the song goes "hit them hard and see how they fall". But no, I don't want to see anyone injured; there is a difference between just hurting and an injury (i.e. concussion, cut, rupture, tear, break, sprain, and/or dislocation to any body part, etc.).

Exactly. I figured IU's defense would be bad, but that spectacle they put on Saturday night was atrocious. I've seen better athletes and defensive play out of decent (not good) high school teams. The fact that UM fans are puffing out their chests after a very, very close win against that bad of a defense speaks volumes for the state of the program. And the fact that they're gushing that much over DR for tearing up that bad of a defense speaks volumes for their delusion.

Be honest, before the year did you see Drob doing what he is doing regardless of defenses?

When a player does something that no other player in the history of football has done (2 200 yard rushing and passing games)....well let's say he at least has to be average. Yeah we gush over him because he is exciting and fun to watch.

It's the same with Pryor with some buckeye fans.

Wow a few idiots puffing their chest equals a fanbase. I usually go to the TheWolverine on daily basis. They have a poll on how Michigan will do in the big ten.

77% think Michigan will go 5-3 or 4-4.

11% 6-2 and the other 11% 3-5 or worse.

Sure I'm sure other fans come on there and vote, but most of them are Michigan fans. I'm sure it would be the same with most Michigan sites. UM fans puffing their chests out......yeah maybe single % wise.

Most true fans think 3-5 wins is what Michigan will achieve in the big ten.

Make fun of the delusional Wolverine fans all you want, I really don't give a shit. However, the majority of us know what this team is and isn't.

most fan bases have delusional fans or so called fans in them.

I probably know more about Ohio St's history then the "so called fans."

I was at a wedding during the game. I couldn't watch the game. Do you have a link to the play in question?

Thanks

Go to the 12:42 mark. You can't miss it--#77 for UM blatantly holds #44 for Indiana, to the extent that the IU player's shoulder pad pops out of his jersey by the end of the play. And the hold wasn't on the other side of the field--it was the only reason that DR made it to the corner; if it weren't for him being held, the IU player makes the play.
