Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr.

Oh now I remember... because then the media wouldn't shut up about a possible four-pete... :dead:

Hey, I'd say it's pretty impressive to toss about "3 pete" talk when it's an impossibility entirely.

Just a reminder to those who've forgotten (actually, just 'cause I like pointing it out)

2003 LSU (Not USC)
2004 USC
2005 Texas

Say what you want about the BCS, but the BCS is the system. Carroll himself said as much when USC was selected for the Rose and not the Sugar in '03. IN fact, and people don't like to hear this, I think, but in 2003 and 2004 (Remember Auburn) the BCS did PRECISELY what it was designed to do... differentiate between 3 undefeateds. It still pisses me off that the same people that said "we need a system because polls are too subjective" are some of the same asshats who get pissy because the BCS didn't conclude that the Poll's 1 and 2 should meet.

Personally, I see Tedward staying 4.

Sr. once made a remark that he expected Ted to stay 4 and earn his degree. Furthermore, from what I know about Sr. (Not much) he seems the type who values development as a man over development as a player. I doubt the Ginns are as strapped as, say, Santonio Holmes was (2 kids, etc.) Of course, I could see Ginn going, but I wouldn't be that shocked if he stayed.

If Teddy were to repeat his performance from last year exactly over again, I'm curious as to where people would project him be drafted. I could easily see him turning it up a notch this year and becoming first round material, but if he repeats a performance of last year he seems like a middle of the 2nd round pick. I'd say the odds of him leaving are about 70% as a wide receiver he might want to go out in the same class as his high school counterpart as they've developed a strong connection that his senior year could be viewed as a disappointment when having to break in with a new quarterback for the first time.

That's a good point. As chemistry goes for Ted and Troy, this year should be THE year.

My vote would go to Troy Smith because he is the unquestioned leader of the offense and has really brought this team together over the past few years, despite heartbreaking losses. However, having a WR/Returner would certainly be a cool note to jot down in OSU history books.

Anyone know when the segments for their 'Cold Pizza' will be played? Or have they already been aired?

While I agree with what you said, BCS was an improvement over the old system, but it can be improved upon by having an OPTIONAL playoff system (emphasis on the word optional) to determine the #1 team. For example, in 2003, let USC and LSU play in the 2nd round playoffs. In 2004, I'll say let Auburn and Utah play each other, and the winner face USC for the NC. 2002, 2005 we don't need a playoff.

The problem with that would be that noone would know if there would be a NC game until the post-season is complete. However, it can still be arranged. I think that would be a far more dynamic system than the 4-game or the current 5-game BCS system.

2006: Troy Smith
2007: Pittman
2008: Chris Wells

Ant - Too much hassle. I mean, there are too many variables... No one knows at the begining of the year under which "system" it's going to be decided. I think they're heading towards a game after the bowls as is (+1), with the new BCS bowl (the second Fiesta Bowl this year). I don't know why they don't just do a 6 team tourney. Take the top six, give the 1 and 2 a bye. First round in 2 of the BCS bowls (Say, Sugar and Orange). Next two games in the other two (Rose and Fiesta) and then a championship game somewhere... Maybe add the Cotton Bowl to the BCS rotation. All the bowls keep their games, and everyone is happy. And, like they do now, you can rotate which games are for which rounds over 5 seasons... they do that for 4 seasons now.. what's the big deal?

But, anyway... Troy for Heisman.

Just gotta hope that Troy and Teddy don't split the votes too much and give it to Quinn. I suppose that if some of the publications I have read come true and tOSU and ND end up 1 and 2 that could be a reality. I think for Ginn to have a Heisman type season Troy will have to have a better one... so Troy > Quinn > Teddy > Peterson

That won't matter, all things being equal, the Heisman goes to the Notre Dame QB anyway. Troy's chances to win the Heisman are dependant on Notre Dame losing three games or more and not getting to the BCS.

Doesn't Notre Dame have some sort of deal with the BCS that says that as long as they win 5 games the are automatically in one of the BCS games and if they win 7 they go to the Championship game?
