Aren't there mandatory evacuations near you? Be safe.

All along the Long Island Sound and the Quinnipiac River. I live in an area of New Haven known as Science Hill, which, as the name suggests, is at a high enough elevation that we're ok. Sounds like we're going to have some friends crashing with us that aren't so fortunate, though. The storm surge could be 11 feet here.

Hoping this one goes better at my new place. Between Irene and that storm this summer I've been without power 11 days in the 17 months I've been in Maryland, along with the earthquake! Just moved to a new place 2 weeks ago, hoping it's in an area that recovers a little quicker than my last place. I don't think I went without power 11 total days in the previous 9 years in Ohio!

Co-worker just showed me a pic he got from his buddy who lives in Atlantic City. It showed his Wrangler parked on the street with water up to the top of the wheels already. Said he has 4 ft of water in his basement as well.

Stay safe to all of you in its wake.
