The point was that if he was classy about the way he handled recruiting as some have stated, he would of called the OSU coaches to inform them about his decision before making it public.

I don't know how fair of an assessment that is. That might have been nice, but I don't see it as a requirement.

unclassy is dancing into a gymnasium, picking up several different hats pretending that you're going to pick that one, and then finally picking the hat of the school you're going to go to and dancing around like a fool a little more.


that's the difference to me.

Springfield's defense shuts down Trotwood-Madison

Trotwood quarterback Marcus Graham passed for 47 yards, and he had no time to find his receivers as the defensive line closed in.

"That was the plan, to get after him, get him from the jump and get him out of the pocket," Springfield linebacker Trey DePriest said. "They picked up our blitzes, but that freed up the defensive line to do their thing."

After a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats took control with a 1-yard run by DePriest with 6:31 left in the half.

OLB Trey DePriest (Akron, Ohio/Springfield) started the final drills of practice with a pick-six. It was similar to the one that future Alabama teammate Vinnie Sunseri had the day before.

"Yeah he dropped in coverage, you know he's trying to be a defensive back and living defensive back's dream," DePriest said.

Sunseri was named Alabama's defensive player of the year. Last year, the 5-10, 215-pounder was named the defensive player of the year in North Carolina. So if he could go for a third state what would it be.

"Ohio!" Sunseri joked.

"Oh no, you definitely can't have that one," DePriest responded.

After watching DePriest and Sunseri this week in the UA practices and game, I can surely tell you Alabama has one dynamic duo at the LB position coming in. It also helps that it seems these two guys are already pretty close and have fun with each other. They were constantly joking around and laughing inbetween plays/drills from what I could see and the above article seems to confirm that.

Same here, I thought he just got offered because of his dad. Alabama has two good linebacker to add to all the other 4 and 5 star player they have.

Actually 4 star De Priest and 3 star Sunseri were the lowest rated of 4 linebackers in the class of 2011 who have verbally committed to play at Bama along with:
4 star, Shannon Brown Rivals link and 5 star, Brett Callaway Rivals link.

They will join an already crowded linebacking roster at Bama that is 6 deep!

DePriest has been sold to Bama because of the relationship with Sunseri.
Bama has received 22 verbal commits already for 2011, and are recruiting hard for more, but only has 8 seniors graduating.
Have to also wonder what might happen if Papa Sunseri is chosen for this HC opening.

University of Alabama assistant head coach/linebackers coach Sal Sunseri had a busy week. He spent Monday interviewing for the head coaching job at his alma mater, Pittsburgh, and Wednesday was in Florida to watch the Under Armour All-American Game.

His son Tino is a quarterback for the Panthers, while Vinnie, a Crimson Tide commitment, was playing in the all-star game.

Saw DePriest playing on Special Teams during the iron bowl yesterday..... guess he messed up on the Auburn kick return to star the second half... got benched and I'm sure saban gave him an ear full... didn't see what happened.

Trey DePriest was reamed by the coaching staff for his mistake on the kick return for a touchdown, and while he went the wrong way the blame was misplaced; he wouldn't have been in position to make the tackle regardless.

Yeah, he got blasted both on TV and by Saban. Had a bad read on the kick and filled the wrong lane, but even with that gap filled I don't see the end result being any different, IMO.

No real news here, probably a typical "freshman mistake". What freshman football player do you know of (i.e. that actually got to play) who didn't make a few mistakes? He'll just learn from it.

Yea I know he's a freshman and he'll make mistakes..was more making a comment about getting reamed when it looked like even with the proper play he still doesn't make the tackle.

I thought way too much was made of it by both Saban and Danielson. Yeah the spot he vacated created a huge hole but the thing is, that's not where the return went.
