I'll take that to the bank! :)
Ohio State is now considered the team to beat for five-star linebacker Trey DePriest. Alabama was once thought as the front runner.
The battle for Trey DePriest is very intense right now. OSU believing he stays, Bama thinking he is heading to Tuscaloosa.D-Day coming soon.

How much does weather factor into a recruits decision? You realize a Ohio recruit may dread deep south heat as much as an Alabama recruit may factor in cold weather.

Ohio State has momentum
2011 LB Trey DePriest
The good thing about the Trey DePriest watch is that the four-star OLB from Ohio is expected to announce his decision by the end of the month, according to Bucknuts.com, which means we won't have to wait until near signing day as we did with his 2009 Ohio counterpart, five-star OLB Jordan Hicks.
That said, all the talk in recent days has DePriest cooling on longtime favorite Alabama and warming up to the Ohio State, where he would play with childhood friend QB Braxton Miller. One source told Bucknuts: "It's not a done deal, but it's a done deal. He's in the fold" for the Buckeyes.
Still, an Alabama-based source told Bucknuts that the Tide staff remains "extremely confident" that DePriest will choose Bama.
The longer this drags out, the better for Ohio State, it would seem, since presumably DePriest would be giving the Buckeyes the time they needed to make up ground.
Springfield (Ohio) High linebacker Trey DePriest is close to making a decision, and Alabama looks like his destination. DePriest has cancelled a trip to Florida for "Friday Night Lights" and never made an expected trip to Ohio State. Alabama linebacker coach Sal Sunseri is recruited DePriest and has done an amazing job with the out-of-state prospect.
