Trev Alberts' Lists of Late and the Inevitable Anti-tOSU Conspiracy Theories

How is the fuck can Oklahoma be over-rated? They've played in the national title game three of the last five years for Ke-ryst sake. Here's Oklahoma's record over the last five seasons along with their final rankings:

2000: 13-0 (#1)
2001: 11-2 (#6)
2002: 12-2 (#5)
2003: 12-2 (#3)
2004: 12-1 (#3)

That's 60-7 (.896), with a national title, three title game appearances (more than any other team), and being ranked in the top six every year (three top-three finishes). And that 60-7 record is the best in major college football since 2000. So how in the fuck are they over-rated?

By the way, his #5 over-rated team, Miami, has the second-best record since 2000 (55-7, .887), along with two title game appearances and a national title.

Alberts is a moron.

well, i believe that trev is just saying, in his opinion, the teams that are overrated going into the '05 season, not basing it on prior years' accomplishments.

First of all, I agree with your final statement - 'Alberts is a moron.' But I think he's just trying to predict which teams won't live up to their preseason rankings this year. Oklahoma and Miami are probably going to end up somewhere between 5 and 8 in the concensus of the preseason polls. I believe that Trev is predicting that they won't finish in the top-10, so their preseason rankings are too high.

A simple prediction from a simple mind. Only time will tell if he's correct.

I just watched the list and I've gotta say, Trev actually did do a good job on this one. Nothing particularly inflammatory, and he seems to do better without May hanging off his hip.

That was a straight list of teams pre v. final rankings. Fact is OSU didn't finish as high as they we projected. Yes, they could have not had the segment, but I'm not worried that they did. I would be more upset if I was K-State or WVU
he did a good job? he started out the "Oklahoma is overrated" segment by talking about losing the NC game the last 2 years in a row. Oklahoma may or may not be overrated this year......but to bring up the fact that they have been in the NC game 2 years in a row kind of kills your argument pretty quick.

I definitely agree with Miami, Georgia, and Oklahoma...

But Tennessee is overrated? They were BEASTLY at the end of last year, with Gerald Riggs finally emerging as the 5-star recruit he was touted as, and the defense playing some serious ball. I don't understand how they can be overrated, with huge # of lettermen returning, along with a handful of decent QBs.

I can't believe you guys sometimes. You say Oklahoma is overrated all the time! If you thought Auburn was a better team then Oklahoma, then you thought Oklahoma was overrated. I hate Trev. He's a ass clown. But right now I think your just looking for an excuse to say you hate him, and dare I say it... I think some of you are dissapointed in him for not having OSU on the list. :wink2:

Actually , not a bad job!

5. Miami I don't agree with this pick, they still have a ton of talent!

4. Tenn They had a lot of off season surgeries and off field issues.

3. Georgia Lost David Green and Pollack, etc. not the same team.

2. ND Huh? This one must have been for the ND network!

1. Okla. Lost Heisman QB, top receivers and losses on D.

Yet another Trev Alberts thread - Heisman Hopefulls

Yeah, yet again, Trev Alberts ignores Ohio State again (Ginn, Smith, Holmes, and hell, maybe Hawk), and really the Big 10 for that matter (only Chad Henne got a nod- give me a break)

-Matt Leinart
-Vince Young
-Chad Henne
-Reggie Bush
-Gerald Riggs Jr.

Oh yeah, and he went out of his way to tell everyone that Adrian Peterson would NOT win the heisman. But apparently another equally talented RB in southern california, who has to share snaps with several other very talented players on his team, got the nod. But Peterson will not because everyone is "focusing on him" and apparently now, thanks to Trev's wisdom, alerted everyone that #28 is good and that they should simply just go stop him, and that Oklahoma obviously expects to just not counterplan and have defenses just lay down for them.

So what if Trev didn't mention OSU? I don't see anything wrong with his list?! :(

Gerald Riggs is probably a long shot with DeAngelo Williams and Omar Jacobs, but I don't disagree that Riggs will be one of the top RBs in the nation and the goto guy in the backfield of a national title contender not named USC.
