tOSU's BCS Bowl possibilities

Nope. You've got your scenarios wrong. The Big 12 champ would be in the NCG. The only way to get three is if the Big 12 champ is not in the NCG, and two other Big 12 teams are in the NCG. That can't happen now, under any scenario

haha you jus lost the hell outta me there.... So my understanding is if it was for example Texas vs Oklahoma in the NCG then another Big 12 team could get into another BCS game?

Yes -- if that other team was Mizzou; IE, if they had shown up today to play Oklahoma and won, thereby guaranteeing them a spot. I think there are actually two ways to get in three teams from once conference. One would be the scenario I just referred to: two teams in the BCS championship game and another in as conference champion. The other would be if a conference somehow had 3 teams in the top 4 of the BCS. I believe if you're in the top 4, you're guaranteed in.

Once upon the time, the CPD was a respectable source for hometown pride. Now We have Lesmersis. Yeah, Utah would be so awesome. I [censored]ing want to kick him in the face. I have never seen a reporter who covers the Buckeyes and has so little knowledge of them.

BB73 edit - for those that missed this in post #508

Good post. Thing is, Lesmeris is bad, really bad, but he is only attempting to reach the ineptitude of Jason Lloyd who covers for the Lake County News Herald and the Lorain Morning Journal. This d.i.ck.weed did a feature on TOSU coaches back a month or so ago, and actually rated Tom Cousineau as one of Earle Bruce's greatest players he ever had here, even though Tom graduated the year before Coach Bruce arrived here.

That article showed up a few days before Jason cited "Craig Heyward's" sack stats for a Buckeye game. Pathetic.

Peace.

So, with the Saturday games, out of the way, who will Ohio States opponent be. What time and network will the bowl selection be one.
Thanks, been out of the loop lately.

Looks like Texas in the Fiesta Bowl Jan. 5 on Fox. You can catch the bowl selection show tonight (Sunday Dec. 7) at 8pm also on Fox.

Nope.

BCS #3 and #4 aren't 'guaranteed' spots. They are not automatic bids if a non-conference champion from the same conference is in the top 2. Also #4 does not get an automatic spot if #3 is a non-conference winner but from a BCS conference, and gets the spot by being #3.

5. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.
6. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 5, and if no team qualifies under paragraph No. 5 and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 4 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.

OSU, Texas look like Fiesta match

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The pieces fell into place with yesterday's college football action to set up a projected matchup in the Fiesta Bowl between Ohio State and Texas.
The pairings for the Fiesta, in addition to the Sugar, Orange and Rose bowls and the national championship game, will be announced tonight. But yesterday, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith was taking nothing for granted.
He worked to promote a Fiesta Bowl that would be just the third meeting between the Buckeyes and Longhorns, with Texas winning in Columbus in 2005 and Ohio State winning in Austin in 2006.
"Two great programs -- that would be an unbelievable matchup, and this would be the rubber match, so to speak," Smith said. "The synergy around such a matchup would be so great."
If the Fiesta passes on Ohio State in favor of matching Texas with unbeaten Utah, Smith said Alabama vs. Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl also would be ideal.

Scratch Cap One bowl from possibilities

The Spartans made the official announcement during a timeout in basketball team?s game against Bradley at the Breslin Center. Football coach Mark Dantonio thanked fans during the timeout and appeared on the floor with captains Javon Ringer, Justin Kershaw and Brian Hoyer.

Not that OSU wasn't already pegged for the Fiesta Bowl (or some other BCS game when they were still in play) I just wanted to to add the article.

Does anyone anywhere on the planet agree with me that it would have been better to have played a beatable Georgia team that was also ranked #1 during the year?

think hard here....... (hint hint: first win over an SEC team?)
No. (and it would not have been our first win over an SEC team - tOSU has 7 wins over the SEC since 1931).
