tOSU vs. USC 08 & 09 series

Aaah, I am looking forward to this series. First off, Pete Carroll has shown me that given time, there's not a whole lot he can't get past. If you look at their losses over the last few years I think only one was a real defeat, that was Texas. The others his team wasn't prepared and got upset, but it was obvious versus Cal, Oregon State and UCLA that USC was the better team. Another note, odds are in 2008 we will be rolling into their house with them in a 4-5 year home winning streak.

This should be the game of the year, and I give props to both schools for having the guts to schedule it. I will be heading to the coliseum to see this game, sporting my white #10 jersey :) My only worry will be parking my car in that dump :(

You mean you don't want the trifecta?
1. Pay Bobby $40 to park on his lawn
2. Bobby breaks into your car while you're at the game
3. LAPD tows your car because it wasn't actually Bobby's lawn

OUCH! That sucks.

I went there a few years ago for the Notre Dame game and we parked way off on some side street. I will say this, walking back to the car was a tad bit scary, for such a nice school the coliseum is in the middle of a seriously bad neighborhood.

even if Rey is still there?

Havent really seen much of Rey play, but after watching Galippo on tape and in the AA game this kid is going find a spot on the field by the time we play them, he is that good, and if he is being held off the field due to guys ahead of him, then they are just sickly loaded...

Whats huge for tosu in this game is if Malcom Jenkins/Gholston come back for their senior seasons. IF they do I like our chances against a 1st year QB (a good one at that). Our defense should be very very stout in 2008. What a game this will be! Gosh what I didn't realize is tosu is probably only going to be missing 1 senior starter (Barton LT, who's a good sized loss). The talent in this game is crazy, and with how SC has been recruiting these years you have to be kind of worried with the depth in this game.

The talents of OSU's offense will be much better in 08' than it will be next year. In 08' will have 4 starters on the line, beanie wells, and a QB who's had a season of playing time, and a great set of WR's. If we can find a #2 option at tailback it could rival this past years offense as far as balance goes (no one can replace troy).

Our defense in 08' the strengths should be a speedy d-line, and one of the most athletic secondaries in the nation. We'll have the best cover corner bar none if he stays for his senior year in Malcom Jenkins. Our weakness in 08' IMO has got to be the linebackers. Sure James at Middle backer will be great, but we need not only 1 but 2 outside backers to step up and tackle better in space. I think Homan and someone else can do that but I got scarlett glasses on ya know?

i'm pretty sure galippo will be starting by '08

He will definitely be on the field a lot. If Rey Rey leaves, Galippo will start at MLB. If not, it would be a tall order to beat out Maualuga, and I don't see Maualuga staying around if there is any chance of him losing out. Actually, I don't see Maualuga staying at all, but I'm keeping him on there just so I can avoid playing that whole guessing game.

Also, Carroll installed the 3-4 defense last year. Whether he stays with it in 2008 will depend on what he has. I set the lineup in a 4-3, but I don't know whether that will be the case.

I don't see where Griffen ends up in the 3-4 unless he plays OLB. He seems like a base 4-3 end to me. Pete has to be drooling with the talent hes going to have on defense. Mays...Galippo....RoJo...Griffen. jesus. If you guys play UF in the title Game the amount of talent on the field will be incredible.

After watching how good their 3rd RB is, how good Galippo is and Griffen, I believe they are going to be almost untouchable. As positive as I want to be I still feel that we are an awesome 2008 recruiting plus another year away from beating them.

Seriously, why don't we schedule games like that for mid-November in Columbus? I would love to see teams from the warm areas coming to Cbus in late fall, early winter.

Wait, nevermind. I forgot about global warming.

One of the USC RBs has decided to transfer. It was inevitable.

Trojans RB Moody decides to transfer

USC's Carroll says Moody wants to be 'featured guy'

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Emmanuel Moody, the second-leading rusher for Southern California last season as a freshman who is caught in a glut of highly regarded tailbacks, has decided to transfer.

"We've talked about it for a couple days. It was not a snap decision," Trojans coach Pete Carroll said after practice Thursday. "He's of the mind that he needs to move on. He's looking for an opportunity where he can be a featured guy.

Can't really blame him. He probably saw the writing on the wall with the guys coming in. And if he's a football player, he wants to be out there playing, regardless of the team.

I've never blamed a player for making a decision to go to a lesser school or to transfer because of the desire to play.

I think it is an ego thing , he knows that backup running backs don't do well in the NFL either draft choice or money wise. That he needs to be showcased in a high profile school to score big. I don't blame him either
