I gotta give May props, I thought the twin towers strategy wasn't going to be effective in this era, but Wolf's skillset makes it work.

Michigan won the coaching search last year. OSU is going to have a deep hole to dig out of because if we don’t make the tourney this year, then Diebler has 1 year to do it. It’s a shame how far OSU basketball has fallen.

Not tough down low. Not smart out top. Not good on the sideline.

The losses these guys take are brutally frustrating

At some point the coach has to be blamed. His players mentally collapse too often. He is probably a very good MAC coach where guard and combo play dominates the game. But in the top 10, you have to have multiple bigs who can play down low as well as draw their man out due to being a triple threat.

Diebler constructed a decent roster but just can’t get over the hump down low. No wonder Diallo left.

I agree. And I was in favor of it…..but deep down knew it was highly risky. Indiana will nail their next hire and OSU will move one more notch down the totem pole to where we were under O’Brien and Holtmann. A decent, pesky team that can beat you but usually doesn’t. Basically, Minnesota.

I’m not so sure. We have an experienced, good roster but either he plays guys to stop the bleeding or he should just recruit 2 or 3 more outside shooters. His offense comes down to feast or famine…..today was famine. No answer to the bigs. But what is worse…..no ATTEMPT to try something different. Mahaffey is way too small to guard a 7 foot…. But flail away.

Diebler is officially on the hot seat now. This was one for the taking.

Or whomever the big was last year who had shown tremendous growth his first 2 years……..he figured out that to take the next step he needs better coaching. I swear I can’t remember his name. He was from Africa.
