tOSU vs. #20 ttun, Sunday Feb 16, 1 ET on CBS

I’m not so sure. We have an experienced, good roster but either he plays guys to stop the bleeding or he should just recruit 2 or 3 more outside shooters. His offense comes down to feast or famine…..today was famine. No answer to the bigs. But what is worse…..no ATTEMPT to try something different. Mahaffey is way too small to guard a 7 foot…. But flail away.

Diebler is officially on the hot seat now. This was one for the taking.
He's not except for those who think Ohio State is a perennial top 10 program.

It doesn't help that Bradshaw and Stewart have both winded up being relatively mediocre at best but the lack of clutch in this team for the most part and the mental breakdowns are definitely mental hang-ups leftover from Holtmann.

Dude…..Matta had us there for 7 or 8 years. Michigan isn’t perennially a top 10 team yet they have our number in BB.

It’s not going to get easier. It’s going to get tougher. Our live by the 3/ die by the 3 offensive plan is fun when it works but when we are cold…..like 3/4 of this game……we can’t be a 1 trick pony. I’m more mad that he didn’t even give Ivan a hint of getting in. Unless he is sick or hurt today that is coaching malpractice.

Guys, followed the Score App since I had to work. Two things in the stat line stood out. Poor free throw shooting and Parrish couldn’t hit the bull in the hind end with a scoop shovel. This isn’t on the coach.

Yea it's never on the coach, these late game slides and mental breakdowns are just coincidences. Let's keep up the excuses and be stuck hoping to maybe slide into the tournament as a 10-11 seed at the end of every year.

Okpara was the big who transferred last year, but he's basically had the same production compared to last season - he's certainly not "made the next step with better coaching" at Tennessee. Bradshaw didn't give them a whole lot this game, the unfortunate reality is they badly need someone to be more of a physical presence to hold position in the paint and rebound.
Or whomever the big was last year who had shown tremendous growth his first 2 years……..he figured out that to take the next step he needs better coaching. I swear I can’t remember his name. He was from Africa.

So you’re saying that we were forced to play 6’6 guys on 7 footers most of the 2nd half and not play our 7 footers on the bench ? I’d like to understand that logic.

Okpara…..he was better last year than anyone we have down low this year……..if not by a mile then by a significant amount. He was a deterrent and had developed his timing to block shots.

Bradshaw let the team down early in the season and could have made the difference in the Pitt game.
Stewart works hard but has a long way to go.
Either way you slice it…..Okapara + either one of those guys would be better than No Okpara

The coach is not able to keep players from transferring, but I will say you should identify the skill of defending the post with some strength & physicality as a priority and get players who can do that.

Yeah, Matta undeniably made us a top ~15 program in the sport and we just voluntarily gave it up through complacency and laziness. No serious program runs somebody out of town and then promotes their assistant who has no experience as a HC. It's pretty astonishing how OSU's AD dropped the ball on this.
