tOSU Transfer Portal Recruiting Discussion

They are losing half their team because of not having eligibility ( I forgot the number but it's compelling). BTW: Corum would play for another 3 years if he could. Lol

They don't have much in the way of roster issues next year, and the NIL will go to the next in line.
I think it’s like 44 players. I don’t think that takes into account early departures for the NFL. My number could be wrong but it’s a very high number regardless.

However you calculate the numbers of Non returning players for them one thing is for certain. This year’s team as compared to next year’s team will be very different animals.

The other interesting tidbit is the timing of things for them. Currently their focus in understandably the Bama game. That forces them to not be able to focus on the portal. At least not entirely. Once the playoffs are complete how many names are left standing in the portal? How much ground have you given up?

I think the issue they may also face (as well as us) is the top names in the portal will want big money. I am not sure their NIL game is that strong to pay big.

scUM isn't pursuing big names, just like they didn't last year. They'll continue to get road graders for smaller schools. And guys who would piss themselves to be sold to play for a former #1 team. They have shown their blueprint.

Yeah, Meatchicken isn't doing so well with the new recruits (note standings), but knock it out of the park with transfers. Kinda wish that new players would be limited to 25 HS recruits, and one-for-one transfers out. Losing eligibility notwithstanding to replace 'aging out' transfers. Might help out with someone adding an almost infinite number of transfers in. PS, some of the above new portal entrees should be forwarded to Mark Pantoni, to 'help' him with his daily scouring of the lists. Many eyes are better than the few.....
