The firm is indeed Jones Day, for those who were wondering. I've been represented by Latham and Watkins as well as Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker before, but have heard of Jones Day.

We're calling Brian Downey now, hopefully -- when he understands that we are a non-profit site, we don't sell anything, we don't do anything but give fans a free and open place to talk -- this will all be old news.

Jones Day is a major firm based out of Cleveland. My uncle works for Jones Day. He represents R.J. Reynolds the cigarette guy. Im pretty sure they are a powerful firm, but I am kind of surprised that they would deal with what seems like such a small deal. Oh well, just as long as my uncles not the lawyer in this case. If it gets big though Ill ask him if he has heard about it.

Jones Day is indeed a major firm. Judge Day (I believe he was a federal judge), is immensely respected, and was named by Dick Celeste as the first Director of the State Employment Relations Board when Ohio adopted its public employee bargaining law in 1983. (Don't know if he is still around--I left the state in 1988). As such, though, they are a D-side law firm, and may be sympathetic to a d-side movement like BuckeyePlanet.
