And MSU has 3 more sacks than PSU. Definitely going to be a test for either the O-Line (for a front four rush) or for Barrett's decision making (on a blitz)

The benefit is that teams score in the red zone against Michigan State 84% of the time. (12 TDs and 4 FG out of 19 attempts)

For me it comes down to the obvious matchup of our offensive line vs their pressure. If we don't find ways to counter it then I'm not sure anything else matters.

Top 3 things that i feel decide the game

1. (Above)

2. Field position- look what Missouri did to Florida with only gaining like 150 yards of total offense. We need to keep forcing turnovers, continue our great punt/kick coverage and we need our best game of the year from our returners.

3. Big plays. Make no mistake about it there's no doubt who has the more explosive players. It's time for Dontre/Samuel/MARSHALL (bolded because i feel he is on the verge) to take over
a game.

We also need to eliminate their only deep threat Lippet. If he gets lose for anything over 20+ yards (especially as a TD) guys i will freak the fuck out. How many times this year has this guy caught a deep ball with a DB looking confused and staring in the opposite direction as 15 just strolls to the endzone...

I seriously will freaking lose my mind (and my remote/ TV) if lippet gets behind us. Double him if you have to but the team to get a big strike like that could swing the momentum and ultimately the game. If Devin Smith beats Lippet i like our odds.

I think we have what they will never have though and that's motivation. We seem mad and i haven't seen players for osu talk like this since heavily watching our team. I like our chances, particularly if JT stays clean and we make them earn it.

Yep. I think the Bucks defense defense can hold Michigan State to a low enough score. Problem is their D line versuses the Bucks O line. If the O line can pass block enough to allow JT to have more time to make his reads than in the PSU game then I like the Bucks chances.

For some reason I see this game as a low scoring affair similar to the 2012 game. Something around 21-17, with the Buckeyes emerging on top, hopefully.

Definitely a "show-me" type game for both teams.

We need this game in the worst way... So far we are 0-2 against teams I would say were top notch quality since Urban has come here. Sure we beat Wisky last year (one dimensional) and we beat Nebraska in 2012 (horrible defense) but this game is a must have for Urban and the staff. We cannot call this game afraid or with preconceived thoughts of what we can and cannot do because we must keep them guessing and absolutely cannot afford to be as predictable as we become when we face a good defense. We need to see the wildcat, we need to see some screens, we need to see a reverse, how about the jump pass, where is the play that got us to overtime against Purdue (delayed TE screen)? All of our arsenal has to be used and if we admit after/before the first series that we won't be able to stop their front 7 then we will NOT win this game. We don't have Braxton to bail us out and go for 60+ we must take our shots and we need to involve a lot of our talent that we have been stocking up on now for 3 years.

If we go into tech, PSU, and 2nd half MSU mode in this game and lose we should stop recruiting all skilled players on November 9th and press to get another 4-6 Offensive lineman because if we aren't going to trust our guys up front (I think they're talented enough, but you win some and lose some) then why continue to recruit players we won't even use when the going gets tough? TRUST these guys up front I know they can do it and just because a team is good at attacking a QB doesn't mean you need to call 5-7 step drops with passes 50 yards down field. 3 step drops and roll out passes are still options but we must stay aggressive on offense. Good offensive coordinators figure out ways to COUNTER what a defense is doing.

so far TH is like a bully with the weaklings... Shows no Mercy and just works them over but when a defense can hit back his confidence is shot, he's guessing himself, and ultimately he puts his forearms up to protect from all the body shots instead of going on the OFFENSE. We need to match MSU's aggression and we need to make them pay for it because like in my analogy when someone is aggressive they leave themselves open for the knockout shot. Are we going to throw the punches to land that shot though... I sure as hell so.

I want to beat everyone by 50. Penn State by 70. But I guess I never understood the whole "we hate that team because they beat us" attitude. If they beat us, and then they stomped on our logo, that's different. If their fans spit on our players, that's different. If their coach talked trash after the game, that's different. But simply beating the buckeyes - I can't hate that. I don't hate Michigan State. In fact, if I ranked all teams in the country from favorite to least favorite, Michigan State would probably be top 10. I hope Ohio State whomps them by 50, though.
