How all away games should end.
We don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan.
.....
Not sure if I am correct here............But I think that Jim Tressel started this Tradition of the team Joining in with OSUMB after all the games to sing "Carmen". I know that YSU did this tradition back in Youngstown, with the team joining in wth the band to do their alma mater when Tressel was coaching there. Anyway it is such a great and fine Tradition.
Not sure on that, but I do recall Cooper dropping the Senior Tackle tradition before the ScUM game....I believe Tressel brought it back. Cooper dropped it when he became head coach (I think).
I remember my Old Man taking me to the 1996 senior tackle as a kid, I had not heard of Cooper getting rid of it, I wonder which loss broke the camels back if true. Not sure on that, but I do recall Cooper dropping the Senior Tackle tradition before the ScUM game....
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...0426_1_michigan-week-ohio-state-senior-tackleSenior Tackle is a football tradition at Ohio State dating to 1913 where senior players hit the blocking sled one last time after the final regular practice. Through the years the practice had become more of a pep rally the Friday afternoon before the Michigan game, which became the last regular-season contest starting in 1935.
But in 1996, then-coach John Cooper blamed yet another loss to the archrival Wolverines on comments made at Senior Tackle. Cooper believed some of the speeches fired up Michigan more than his team. The event was moved from the field and open stands of Ohio Stadium to the privacy of the team's practice facility at Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

I thought that was because he was basically assured a bowl game by that time. He basically changed Senior Tackle from the last practice before Michigan to the last practice for the seniors. And I thought that was something Earle Bruce did, too.
Also, I don't remember anyone before Tressel singing Carmen Ohio after victories. Maybe Woody and Earle Bruce did that, but I didn't think they did. (Noted that I was 2 when Woody was fired and 11 when Bruce was fired.)
Funny....that one thread posted here was them bitching about how they couldn't go over to the Ohio State forum to post a congrats bc of the same thing. I think it was a 247 forum. What is up with the Michigan State forums? You need to be a member to see what anyone is saying about anything.
And I remember a shitload of "fans" back on Bucknuts who said it was bullshit, worthless, and corny when Tressel first said he was instituting it. I wonder what those clowns think now...Not sure if I am correct here............But I think that Jim Tressel started this Tradition of the team Joining in with OSUMB after all the games to sing "Carmen". This is what kept us from blowing them out early. Keep in mind that after the missed FG on our opening drive, we scored TDs on 7 of 8 possessions, including 6 straight possessions...and that's with fumbling the ball away on a punt and kickoff during that span. Now Sparty did get 536 yards of offense, but 199 of those came after we went up 42-24 early in the fourth and we played looser defense to prevent the big strike.Man...early on with the missed FG, the penalties/sacks on that drive that pushed us from the MSU 9 out to the OSU 45, the muffed punt, the fumbles on kickoffs, basically up till the MSU FG miss and Michael Thomas taking it to the house, I thought "this is gonna be one of those games where all the bounces go against us...it's just not our night."
Just think if they would have called MSU for the offsides they should have on that first drive. I think the missed call directly led to the hands to the face penalty. It was also woefully missed on the prior play. This is what kept us from blowing them out early.
