Game Thread tOSU @ Sparty, Nov 8th @ 8pm ET, ABC

Minnesota seems like they might be good? IDK. Haven't seen them play, but got a good record.

IU has got really fucking crazy helmets. Look out...

My question is : How does Meyer and his staff, get ready for Minnesota. It is another away game and I have watched them enough to think they are a pretty good football team. I know, I know, I said the same damn thing about "Rutgers" and I caught hell for that one. We just finished playing one of our finest games against MSU and how do you bring Ohio State down from the ceiling and get them ready in just six days. Like in another post I read "There is still a lot of football left top play"

Getting to mid top 10 would help tremendously. Shows them what's at the end if they win out.

Otherwise, it's a 7-2 Minnesota, shouldn't be hard to show up against any team already bowl eligible, and well, then Michigan shouldn't be hard to show up for either.

The ball was put on the ground 4 times last night and each time the home team rated in the top 10 came up with it. Based on that statistic alone, the visiting team should have practically no chance of winning. But when the visiting offense is led by JT and his merry band of brothers, and the visiting defense has a man possessed in the middle (Bennett), a man-child lining up on the outside or inside or linebacker (linebacker?), and the others playing assignment football and flying to the ball, that "practically no chance" turns into the visiting team winning by totally dominating the second half.

And I'm not sure who in the game thread mentioned Sparty not being a good second half team, but that was spot on.

The Oline played lights out. The front 7 needs to work at getting after the ball carrier and taking proper angles. Too many times Bennett or Bosa would get good penetration only to not have help.

That said, taking a quick look at our special teams problems... (not turning the ball over deep in their territory and missing a FG) This game should have been somewhere along the lines of 56-27.
This is what we wanted when we hired Urban, elite offense producing against a great defense and an aggressive defensive mentality.

Agreed, why we hired Urb. This is the first time in a limited set of opportunities to see it all on display against a formidable opponent. Last year some of the pieces were in place, but the D2 just wasn't what it needed to be. The coaching changes this year, in combination with players coming along (not unrelated to coaching changes, I know) are really showing dividends. This is a fun team to watch now. They will be a terror next year with the talent coming back.

Strange to be looking forward to next year already even though we're making moves this year... Nice position to be in.
