2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

NIL and Xfer portal means that the door isn't closed no matter how long, am guessing. Caleb and Julian both were 'close' to committing to the Buckeyes, but when Saban retired, they both ran, not walked into the Buckeyes locker room. Not that I'd know, but when being recruited, one's decision hinges on several key points, probably different for each kid, but it always seems like the Buckeyes make lasting impressions. Sooo, my long-winded point being that if there's a second chance, then these guys remember tOSU well.

Probably all shell-shocked if had to guess. Let reality sink in, and maybe the grass will look greener elsewhere. Looking at the coaching horizon, cannot fathom who might slide into PSU's HC position. Either an old retread, or a fresh new face. PSU has been one of the more stable coaching positions over the years, so not certain whether they have the cojones to go with say a Tressel from Youngstown State, or elevate a Day from being OC to the head position. Probably elevate a coordinator for the rest of the season, maybe try to steal a Cignetti or somesuch, better minds than mine probably have other choices. Stay tuned....

Simply focusing on the OL, looks like tOSU has added more potential, subject to Coach Mick toning some bodies. Haven't really seen any of the freshman (Carter Lowe, etc) getting in on closing minutes of a game, nor the twins (much) from St. Iggy. Yet, it appears (yet again), that tOSU OL has taken what it has, and molded a cohesive group of big 'uns, and so far has held firm against some talented DEs. Maybe the holes haven't been as big, but the pass pro has been stout. Believe the first two sacks of the season occurred against Illinois, but not entirely certain didn't happen because of coverage, not being outmatched. Seems like we have a good OL coaching staff, and of course, the raw talent for them to work with. Go Bucks!

Sayin wasn't sacked at all vs Illinois lol. He was sacked in the Ohio and Washington games.
