(Couldn’t find a thread on Davis)

New 4 star offer in the LB Corps for ‘26.

Out of Loganville, GA. Holds 29 offers with some big names: Auburn, scum, Tenn, Oregon, ND, TAMU.

Loganville (Ga.) Grayson 2026 linebacker Anthony Davis is in Columbus on his first visit to Ohio State and he has added an offer from the Buckeyes.

It is offer No. 29 the No. 293 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and the Big Ten program is instantly a contender.

“This offer means a lot and it puts them high on my list,” Davis told On3.…

Ohio State is a school to watch for Davis now. He will be at Oregon, but expect him to return to Columbus in the coming months.

“I have watched practice, talked to the coaches and toured the facilities on this visit. I love the culture. It really stands out.”

With all of the frustration with losing out on Brew in 2025. Just think that OH has the(per the 247 composite) the #1 and #10 CBs in the country. With both favored to OSU. While another ATH(Payton Cook) could make the switch to CB and get in the 4star range. That should give OG Walt a cycle that's not a national dogfight in multiple states(especially the south)

Plus you've gotta think about the outstanding '23 and '24 behind the great '25 class. That is stacking your chips. Brew was mostly frustrating because of the bad information and seeing a true Dayton raised kid and legacy recruit of sorts to elsewhere. But I'm over it and there's still a chance he lands here.

For '26, having Hill and the inside track on him great. I only bring up the above classes because the pressure has been lowered for this class. Of course we'll be out to kill it, but it's nice not having it be a must as we've seen at other positions in past years.

Isn’t it #1 and #2 with Sánchez and Offord?

Ohio State Recruiting: Buckeyes shouldn’t have to look far for defensive backs in 2026 class

The Buckeyes look poised to keep two of their best in-state kids at home in the next cycle.

If he’s not already, a big season from Ohio State’s cornerbacks this year should further cement Tim Walton as one of the better position coaches in the country. From the on-field development the past year and the recent stretch of elite recruiting, OG Walt has been absolutely crushing it for the Buckeyes, and there’s plenty more to come.

The 2025 class being a major example of his success, Walton currently has Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord committed — the No. 1 and No. 2 cornerbacks in the country, respectively. An incredible haul for any recruiting class, Ohio State is fortunate to have Walton heading this position group with all the tools he brings to the table.

Looking back at 2024, Walton was able to reel in Aaron Scott Jr., Bryce West, and Miles Lockhart in another top-ranked class. Looking at Scott and West specifically, the two being in-state products is what catches the attention most. Not needing to go more national last cycle, Walton prioritized his backyard like the staff does every year, and it resulted in commitments from a pair of top-70 national players.

Taking a look at 2026, it’s shaping up to be very much like the 2024 class.

Ohio is home to both Victor Singleton and Elbert Hill, and so again rather than having to look national in this upcoming cycle, the Buckeyes really don’t have to go far from home —just like they did in 2024. With the 2025 class providing those high-profile national talents, it works out in Ohio State’s favor that two of the top five cornerbacks in the country are once again right inside their own state borders. The only matter now is making sure they stay home.

Good stuff, obviously. However, this year tells the tale of 'expecting' or 'a given' that not always are the Ohio kids going to end up at Ohio State (Doran and Trey). tOSU coaches have gotta spread out the attention to include the in-staters, as well as the national-gets. Sure, I blame it on NIL, seems the safest bet, as $ talks, BS walks. Or in this case, the lack of effort. Now, am not saying that tOSU coaches were lazy, certainly not, but the home state advantage, especially with a great university/football team as exists here, should not be that easy to overcome. CB depth could be a problem, as there are plenty of CBs in the pipeline, and from what I understand, tOSU DBs run a system much like the pros, aka man-to-man, put them on an island, etc. Not to babble further, the DB room is starting to look like the WR room, or the QB room, with 4-5*s stacking up like cordwood. And that's a good thing. Go Bucks!
