Texas just pulled a shocker and landed 5* DL Justus Terry out of Georgia over Georgia, they will definitely finish with the #1 class.
Terry seemed to be chasing a bag his whole recruitment, remember he committed to USC early in the cycle. Texas showing oil money is still king.

Some more thoughts on Justus Terry:
This is a kid that UGA offered in 8th grade. He literally lived on UGA's campus and had been there roughly 50 times. Had incredible, long-lasting relationships with UGA and they were willing to give him a lot to go there. He even took his official visit to Texas for the game where UGA crushed them at home. Texas came out and stole him within the last 3 weeks, essentially, with a massive, massive offer.

UGA fans are baffled. They have an incredible track record developing DL for the NFL. There's no way they should have lost this kid. It's a reminder of recruiting in this day and age. Also makes me feel less bad about losing David Sanders. Not much you can do when the big money talks.

If that was in Ohio, how would we be taking the news?

That’s shocking really. Wow.
Even more people wanting Ryan Day fired

But this is also what Bama signed up for when they hired a west coast HC. A third of their 2025 class is from CA and 1from NV. And Deboer went after southern players, but they happened to be from GA, and MS mostly. It's going to take at least another year, for coaches made up mostly of west coast guys, getting their relationships built in AL. Hugh Freeze and his staff are southern boys with their own strong NIL backing.

This is the cautionary tale for fans wishing for Day's head. Sometimes the hottest coach out there doesn't translate.

With that said, Saban's sudden retirement didn't help Alabama.
It’s more of a reinforcement really.

No one was going to follow behind and do better than Saban. Same for Urban.

With those two gone you have Kirby and a mass of mediocrity from coast to coast imo.

And it’s not even like Smart is that good. His record before the NCs was actually worse than Days. And he didn’t win his 1st NC until year 6. And what year is it for Day

And fully agree on Saban, that is an impossible man to follow. i wouldn’t put Urban in that category. Days worst years he has 2 losses, Urban has absolutely been replaced. The only issue is Day beating scUM. It’s a big issue, but idk of anyone rational who would say he hasn’t been successful. And the calls for his job have been due to 1 team. Day doesn’t have a loss to a team like Minnesota(or Vanderbilt in the case of Deboer) or Ped St(which can be subbed for Tenn)

Gonna have to agree to disagree here n the Urbans been replaced bit.

Urbans sheer force of will and intensity was the way he did what he did. It always led to a let down game somewhere along the way so losing to Iowa and Purdue was always the price you pay for a 2014 and going 7-0 in The Game.

Day doesn’t lose to Purdue or Iowa but he’s got his dick You n his hand for hardware and The Game so no, I disagree that Urbs has been replaced.

That said, I’m not arguing with my Buckeye brothers on this until this playoff is over because I honest to Woody hope Day goes slingblade on the rest of this playoff pool.

He has the pieces. He just needs to be tired of losing and do it for himself.
