2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

2024 QB impressed after attending first Ohio State game as a recruit

The Buckeyes aim for one quarterback in each of their recruiting classes and have their guys for both their 2024 and 2025 classes in Air Noland for 2024 and Tavien St. Clair for 2025. But the way the transfer portal is, looking at additional quarterbacks for the roster has to always be considered.

For their game against Minnesota, the Buckeyes hosted 2024 Waco (Texas) Midway quarterback Ty Brown on an unofficial visit.

TAMU has 5 top 100 players, including 2 DL and an OT. Their class is ranked #6.

But here is my opine on their redruiting -

When NIL hit the TAMU boosters started throwing money around like crazy. That brought in a bunch of blue chippers including multiple DL. From 2021 to 2023 they have been ranked #8, #1 and #15. respectively

But the plauyers were there only for the money. And that is why TAMU has underpeorformed (11 losses in the last two years).

Hard pass.

What does that mean?

Could mean something big or nothing at all. For those of us who've followed recruiting for a long time (Ken-Yon Rambo was my initial recruiting follow) it could mean he's about to decommit. The rule of thumb on Northern schools recruiting kids from the South especially Fla, a verbal commitment only means you're in their top 5. I'll believe JJ is a Buckeye when I see him wearing S&G and running onto the Horseshoe turf

He won’t have to deal with the idiots threatening him or other assorted things fanatics say when a player decommits
Ok, makes sense. It's difficult to get those kids out of south Florida. This time of the year. There must be some big rumblings going on with the staff, because there is alot of weird happenstance lately. Can't be NIL alone.
