2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Rather than bump a bunch of threads, Fong on BM5 this morning:

Aaron Scott: still has him in for Ohio State

Guerby Lambert: nothing committal, Ohio State is on the short list but buzz is around ND

KVA: visit really, really moved the needle for Ohio State, this weekend could really pay a lot of dividends for Ohio State

Brandon Baker: Oregon probably leads but really good visit, Texas also in the mix

Kobe Black: he and his family really enjoyed trip to Ohio State, likes the culture, coaches, pedigree of development. Buckeyes are "way in" his recruitment

KJ Bolden: Ohio State has a great shot, OV was "awesome", mom loves Ohio State

Eddrick Houston: still has his CB on Ohio State and hasn't heard anything different

Dylan Stewart: Ohio State has a great shot, SC and Miami are recruiting him hard, a lot of people behind the scenes like Ohio State's position
That is a realistic but mostly optimistic outlook. Stewart would be ideal but Houston would be an absolute homerun if we can get him. Looking like Lightfoot is pretty likely, but we need at least one more elite DE to add...seems like Houston and Stewart are the main contenders for that spot. I doubt we get 3 elite DE's even though we are in the hunt, but we need at least 2 in all reality if we want to keep contending for titles.

One thing that OSU has going for it with the Buford kids is OSU's handling of one of their own in Harry Miller.

OSU did right by Miller, and that probably go's far with their coaches and community.

So good vibes are always a good thing.
Yep, things may not have worked out on the field the way Harry and Buckeye Nation had hoped, but with OSU's support, he is doing far more important work now.

Oregon about to land its third OT on Saturday, a 3star from AL. Should bode well for Baker to OSU...

Texas looks like it might elevate to the main competition in the Baker recruitment if Oregon is dropping off.
I would gladly take UT as the main competition for Baker's recruitment specifically (I'm just thinking if he leaves the west, it would be to Columbus), but you have to wonder if Baker is a guy Oregon would take regardless.

If OSU begins having problems getting DTs, from OOS, here is an in state DT who I could see them being able to flip:

AG agrees with this sentiment, but his 1st half of the season will prove if OSU thinks he(or any of the other OH DL) is OSU caliber

Is there already an indication that OSU won't land a big time 5 star this go around?

I definitely know that OSU has some delusional fans(message boards and Twitter tend to bring out some of the worst minority and delusion of fan bases), but my god do fans of has been programs take it up a notch in their delusion.
