2023 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

How have Hunt and Hartford looked?

These are the players I am most interested in today.
Both looked good. CSH gave up one catch on a 5-6 yard comeback route, tackled him immediately. Looked really good running with WR’s on deep routes. He will be in the two deep next year, imo.

Hartford looks rangy. Likes to hit. Reminds me of Josh Proctor a bit, but more athletic. He will be a good one.

There is no chance Dakota starts next year.
None. And I was touting the kid before he committed.

As for Marshall my point is he isn’t a “long shot”.

Tennessee is rumored to be the biggest threat. Hardly an academic juggernaut.

Lastly, we have take 1 tb in the 2 past classes.
No other team in the country let alone elite one can offer that path of least resistance to seeing the field.
Down goes Braxton
Down goes JT
Cardale, you ready for this?

That's all exactly the point. Don't leave this team and program without decent options if the first option falters for some reason. Urban doesn't get enough credit for instilling the fight in his entire roster to the point that a JT can step in and become a Heisman candidate and Cardale Jones, who didn't come to play school, can have the most epic 3rd string run in history! Don't t leave the roster hamstrung when we recruit the crap out of prospects every year. Find a way to get them ready

Edit: recruiting forum rules. Mea Culpa

That read can suck it. They just pimped more SEC players. I watched that game, twice, and all of the updates coming out this week. Our guys dont take a back seat to any of them.

Yeah not worth reading. Our guys shined, especially Kienholz, Innis and Tate. CSH locked his guys down and Hartford looked awesome. The end, that's the read for everyone on this board.

Surprised to see only 4 of Georgia's top 25 recruits signed with UGA:

Eleven college football programs have signed at least one of the top 25 recruits in the Peach State. Clemson and Georgia lead the way with four signees among that group, followed by Alabama and South Carolina with three each, then Auburn, LSU, Ohio State and Tennessee with two each, while Arkansas, Florida and Louisville each have one.

7) Jelani Thurman | TE | Langston Hughes (Fairburn)

247Sports rank: 4-star | 96 rating | No. 65 Overall | No. 3 TE
Recruitment status: Signed with Ohio State
Measurables: 6-5 | 230
Scouting report: Great height and elite frame with long arms and a large catch radius. Varied snaps flexed out, attached, and as an H-back. Owns the body to stay personnel-flexible for the long run. Generally catches the ball away from his body and shows above-average plucking ability. Dangerous in contested situations as a ball winner whose physical tools overwhelm defenders. Multi-sport athlete who plays basketball and transfers that functional athleticism to the gridiron. Shows encouraging conviction as a blocker. Flashes pop in his hands and makes disengaging difficult for opposing defenders. Also has played defensive end to add another valuable layer to strong overall athletic profile. A bit high-cut and can improve pad level as a blocker. Tight-ankled at times, resulting in rounded-off routes. Natural football player but raw technically relative to position-specific technique. On-the-rise tight end prospect who could become one of the better at the position in the 2023 class. Projects to the high-major level with a ton of potential that could ultimately lead to playing beyond college. – 247Sports Midlands Region Recruiting Analyst Gabe Brooks

16) Kayden McDonald | DL | North Gwinnett (Suwanee)

247Sports rank: 4-star | 92 rating | No. 178 Overall | No. 28 DL
Recruitment status: Signed with Ohio State
Measurables: 6-3 | 310
Scouting report: Possesses ideal size at 6-foot-3 and 300-pounds plus, possesses limited growth potential to add additional weight to frame. Displays good athletic ability as an interior defensive lineman, showing the ability to play multiple positions on the defensive line. Exhibits good quick twitch explosiveness off the line of scrimmage with an excellent first step. Nimble for his size, possessing good initial foot and body quickness. Can with speed, quickness, and power off the line of scrimmage. Flashes heavy hands at the point of attack, in addition to good play strength, showing the ability to penetrate consistently behind the line of scrimmage. Possesses the frame and the ability to anchor the run while also adding some pass-rush ability as an interior lineman. Projects as a one technique in a 4-3 defense with the ability to offer some position versatility along the defensive line if needed. Forceful prospect that has the ability to impact the run and pass as an interior lineman and projects to a Power Five multi-year starter with the ability to outperform his current projection. – 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna

Ohio State football makes move up in 2023 team recruiting rankings after last 247Sports update

Sometimes things go a little under the radar and that’s exactly what happened with the last 2023 team composite rankings from 247Sports. The popular recruiting service updated its final rankings for every player in the recruiting cycle. And with it, an Ohio State recruiting class that was somewhat light on numbers and not as highly thought of got a bit of a bump.

It wasn’t a major bump, and there’s still not the volume of players a lot of other schools have, or probably not even what the Buckeyes would like to have, but it is a bump nonetheless.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes
