but in reality its not up to Coaches/Uni… its up to the boosters… and as Ord pointed out … we dont have any “Big Cigars” in the Athletic Dept…So Tejas & SEC have that leg up…

We have the largest alumni base in the country and the largest social media presence in the country by a significant margin.
I'm wealthy but most of you aren't. But the point is what would stop OSU from setting up an NIL "Charity Fund" where supporters could contribute.

Probably the fact that the University can’t have any obvious involvement.

hate to go this route but we’ve now entered the Candidate/party - super pac era.

I disagree. Why can't the school have someone who works with the business community and develops NIL deals for athletes?

I know they have farmed it out to some third party types but I would take it in house and find my Pantioni of NIL Business development.

The big cigar boogey man is a cop out in my opinion. Doesn't always have to be a nefarious villain cheating you on the other end.

Honestly I’m assuming it’s part of the rules that they can’t or compliance won’t let them at this point.

Well I guess there are rules because the NCAA is going after Miami & BYU right?

I get everyone’s frustrations with this … I don’t know wth is going on or why OSU seems to be caught so flat footed by this… this isn’t our usual place… but these aren’t usual times.

Yeah, that's my only gripe. There is a new game being played, figure out how to win it or make room for someone who can.
