Ah, no love for our committed punter. And a decade ago, that was the most important play ...
so you see a flip coming sooner or later I had to look him up because I do not know much about recruiting
Didn't we lose a certain highly ranked OT to them because of their favorable depth chart? If I had to guess, Bama probably got dropped due to the OL they’re about to land.

is it a problem with Stud’s recruiting or his targets? Is it lack of NFL OL?That was part of it, as was the development of the position. Today they’re getting the Brockermeyer twins (#1 OT and #1 C) and are expected to land Ferguson (#2 G) in the coming weeks.
That gives them the #1 and #5 tackles, #2 guard and #1 center. On top of that, they are in contention to land Mims who is the #2 tackle in the nation (though Georgia is probably the leader there).
I don’t hate Stud, but his OT recruiting leaves a little to be desired. Thankfully PJ was an Ohio kid who Day reeled back in last year, or we’d be in a really bad spot at the position. For as good as he’s been recruiting interior OL, he just doesn’t attract blue chip OT’s unless they’re kids from in-state.
There’s still time with Leigh (though a visit is going to have to happen), Jackson could definitely kick out to OT, and Christman could possibly play RT...so all isn’t lost. He really needs to find a sure-fire OT in this class or the next though.

Gotcha - last question: Is it that Bama has recruited better and had a hire base from which to develop? I dont know outside of Pairs and NPF I dont think we’ve had many highly rated OTIt’s probably a mix of all of those.
I wouldn’t say lack of NFL OL, because they’ve had a lot of success on the interior in recruiting, on the field and in the draft there.
It’s more so the lack of NFL OT’s. At the tackle position Jamarco was drafted in the fifth round and has stared 3 games, Jordan was drafted in the fourth round and started 9 games at guard, and Prince was drafted in the sixth round and started 2 games.
That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence for a High School kid looking to make it to the NFL.

Pretty sure @HotMic is only referring to lineman who received coaching from Stud during his tenure. Decker was training for the draft the same year Studrawa was hired (2016).Decker was a first rounder was he not? I didn't really follow his career that close but I thought he was successful?

BPA thanks for the research, appreciate the insight... it might be fun (off topic and a relative term :)) to compare Wisky, Iowa & Bama since they they are both SEEM to be producing NFL linemen as an amazing clip...Since Stud’s 1st year (2016):
Alabama
2016:
5* Jonah Williams (#2 OT)
4* Charles Baldwin (#1 JC OT)
4* Scott Lashley (#20 OT)
-All from outside Alabama
2017:
5* Alex Letherwood (#1 OT)
4* Jedrick Wills (#7 OT)
4* Elliot Baker (#1 JC OT)
-All from outside Alabama
2018:
No OT’s
2019:
5* Evan Neal (#1 OT)
4* Pierce Quick (#7 OT)
4* Amari Knight (#10 OT)
4* Landon Dickerson (Transferred from FSU)
-Two from outside Alabama
2020:
4* Javion Cohen (#25 OT)
3* Damieon George (#31 OT)
-One from outside Alabama
2021:
5* Tommy Brockermeyer (#1 OT)
5* JC Latham (#5 OT)
-All from outside Alabama
Ohio State-
2016:
4* Michael Jordan (#14 OT)
4* Malcolm Pridgeon (#3 JC OT)
3* Gavin Cupp (#42 OT)
-Two from outside Ohio
2017:
4* Thayer Munford (#28 OT)
-None from outside Ohio
2018:
5* Nicholas Petit-Frere (#1 OT)
4* Max Wray (#9 OT)
-All from outside Ohio
2019:
4* Ryan Jacoby (#23 OT)
3* Dawand Jones (#86 OT)
-One from outside Ohio
2020:
5* Paris Johnson (#1 OT)
3* Grant Toutant (#35 OT)
3* Trey Leroux (#91 OT)
-Two from outside Ohio
2021:
No OT’s
Working through the averages:
Alabama
-4.29 star average
-11 from outside the state (14 total)
Ohio State
-3.81 star average
-7 from outside the state (11 total)
So Alabama is recruiting not only at a higher volume, but also a higher quality. All the while they’re doing so at a more national level.
In my personal opinion, a program like Ohio State shouldn’t have a five year average under 4 stars at any position. 3.81 isn’t good for competition at the position and getting the best out of the guys who do win the starting spots.
