Looks like we’re down to Cowan or a late flip, which would be such an Urban-esque move.Bingley-Jones is going to commit to North Carolina on August 3rd, so he's out.
I think that Cowan is a strong possibility, but he's tough to read. Also, the staff may be trying to work some last-minute magic with Broughton before going all-in on Cowan.
Don't be surprised if the staff gives out an in-season offer to a late bloomer type, especially if Ricks ends up elsewhere.
I started to write that this was one of the few times we disagree but before I did I went back and watched Cowan's junior highlights and I think I was confusing him with someone else. I liked what I saw, especially when it came to change of direction and ability to work down the line and makes plays while avoiding blocks. Obviously he needs to work on a ton on technique...from tackling to hand placement, etc. His highlight film has WAY too many shirt grabs. But there's a lot to like when it comes to his size, his arm length and his ability to explode when he reads and reacts.Just go all out on Cowan...he's a great talent and I think he is ranked a lot lower than he should be. Would be ecstatic to have Cowan in this class.
Let’s try to flip Bryan Bresee!!!
#wishfulthinking
Why not try to flip Lendak at that point? Is it that unreasonable to expect an OSU HC to flip Ricks, Breese, Burch, and DJ Uiagalelei???
Not saying Day is on the hot seat, but he's definitely on a leather couch that's been sitting in direct sunlight for 5 hours.
