I think that Cowan is a strong possibility, but he's tough to read. Also, the staff may be trying to work some last-minute magic with Broughton before going all-in on Cowan.

Don't be surprised if the staff gives out an in-season offer to a late bloomer type, especially if Ricks ends up elsewhere.

Looks like we’re down to Cowan or a late flip, which would be such an Urban-esque move.

I started to write that this was one of the few times we disagree but before I did I went back and watched Cowan's junior highlights and I think I was confusing him with someone else. I liked what I saw, especially when it came to change of direction and ability to work down the line and makes plays while avoiding blocks. Obviously he needs to work on a ton on technique...from tackling to hand placement, etc. His highlight film has WAY too many shirt grabs. But there's a lot to like when it comes to his size, his arm length and his ability to explode when he reads and reacts.

I would expect LJ Sr. to spend some time in Tennessee in the near future. The two other uncommitted DL prospects I really like are both there...Jay Hardy and Tyler Baron. Hardy visited in June and came out of the visit with a top 16 that included OSU. Baron visited back in April and recently said he wants to visit again the end of this month unofficially plus he plans to make an official to OSU.

Buckeyes are looking for and the space left in the class is dwindling so our Top Targets list is getting smaller. Of course on the list are running backs Bijan Robinson and Jaylan Knighton and bullet/safety Kourt Williams. The Buckeyes are the Crystal Ball leader for all three.

But just in case they miss on Williams, safety Makari Paige who has made an official visit to Ohio State remains on the list. Also still on the list is cornerback flip target Elias Rickswho is an LSU commitment.

And the Buckeyes still are interested in adding another defensive lineman so we have three on the list currently, Jacolbe Cowan and Kedrick Bingley-Jones who have already made an official visit to Ohio State, as well as Tyler Baron who is working on scheduling an official visit to Ohio State.
