Great article from Birm, on OSU beginning to shift their recruiting strategy. In his words, they will be more aggressive but not reckless. I wouldn't expect them to match some over the top numbers from Texas, Miami or USC, but hopefully they can close the gap more

Doubt it, they're fine with Bradford being the only high paid S. It'll probably help more with DL and CB which are the main 2 positions of need to close the cycle. Maybe Auburn's season being much worse than OSU's could offer the Buckeyes a better chance with Womack. MAYBE

Eighteen Five-star Prospects Headline Loaded Recruiting Visitor List for Ohio State's Matchup with No. 1 Texas
We’re just gonna go ahead and say it.This might be the most impressive collection of recruits visiting Ohio State on a single weekend in recent history, based on their composite ranking. Dozens and dozens of recruits will flock to Columbus on Saturday for the highly anticipated season opener against Texas. There will probably be more than 100 prospects in attendance. Surveying the early expected visitor list, 18 five-star prospects should be in Columbus from the 2026, 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes.

Ohio State made a statement on Sunday, taking down No. 1 Texas 14-7.The Shoe was loud and chaotic all afternoon, with OSU fans making life difficult for Arch Manning and the Longhorns. Noon game or not, this was the kind of atmosphere you wanted for a big recruiting weekend which featured more than 100 recruits in attendance. As 2027 tight end Colt Lumpris told Eleven Warriors Sunday, he thought The Shoe was one of the loudest stadiums he's ever been in and he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Ohio Stadium. He certainly wasn't the only one.
Ohio State showcased a dominant defense and a willingness to adapt offensively, providing something enticing for every position group that visited over the weekend. Although the coaching staff had limited time to spend with prospective players, they made the most of their visits and left a lasting impression on many players that could pay dividends down the stretch.
On Friday, we highlighted the loaded list of recruits who were making the trip to Columbus for Saturday’s game. Some of those recruits took to social media after the game to share their experiences and we've compiled some of the reactions below.

I decided to move from Bill Kurelic the coach to Bill Kurelic the recruiting guy. But my idea was a little different. In those days, the only guys really covering football recruiting were doing it nationally. My thinking was to start a business for people like myself, people that really didn't care about some recruit in Oregon or Rhode Island that had no interest in Ohio State and vice-versa, but instead start a print publication call the "Ohio Football Recruiting News" that covered anyone and everyone across the country Ohio State was recruiting as well as top football prospects in the state of Ohio.
In my first year of publication (1986-87), I did not make any money. My second year I broke even. At that point, I told my wife I would give it one more year, and if I wasn't making any money, that would be it. My third year did indeed make money, so I continued on, and here we are, almost 40 years later.
Over the past couple of years, I have thought off and on about retirement. Over the past six months or so, I've thought more intently about either retiring or at least scaling back. After praying about things and many discussions with my wife, in the first part of June, I decided that I would be retiring. But I wanted to think about things for a bit longer to make sure I still felt that way. As things moved forward, I felt more and more sure of my decision.
As the line in The Lion King movie goes, "It is time." It is now time to announce that I will be retiring in October.

Ha ha, I remember back in the day on his website, the pic of him holding that phone to his ear and pointing at it like he was on the line with a high profile recruit.
He provided us early recruitnicks with a lot of info.

pretty much how i got into following crootin. freshmen year at OSU the first big recruit i remember following was Ken-Yon Rambo
