Ohio State staff hits the recruiting trail with spring football conclusion

The end of spring football means spring recruiting trail for OSU staff.

It’s almost been a week since Ohio State’s annual spring football game, and while recruiting has certainly been a trending topic of not only interest, but also continuous updates, that conclusion of on-field work with the players by Ohio State’s coaching staff means that the staff now has priority in hitting the recruiting trail at an ever so speedy pace.

Imagine that, recruiting only seeing an increase in priority. Hard to think of, but Urban Meyer and his guys have said in interviews this week that they now will be hitting the trails making their presence felt all over the country as 2019 and 2020 prospects continue to see their recruitment's take off. All things considered, even a week of multiple 2019 commitments for the Ohio State Buckeyes won’t slow the pace of Meyer and company. If anything, it’s just fuel to the fire as they await the next solid pickup for their current class.

Three points:

1. Decent summary on three prospects.
2. I guess it is common knowledge that recruiting is a 365 day a year job.
3. Gotta love Ringo's hat.......

The RB recruiting in 2019 is fascinating to me after the commitment of Chambers. The staff hasn't given any indication on where they see his best fit, so the remaining RBs on the 2019 board seem to trending elsewhere(Ford, Cain, etc). This leads me to believe that Chambers is set at RB, if so, then I could see the HB being used more as a change of pace RB, if indeed our RB future will be 2 RBs with bruising styles(to go with Teague and Snead).
If Chambers' best position is indeed OLB(where I believe it is), outside of Smith from VA, there aren't too many other options at LB to recruit,. And the best scenario would be putting weight on Shaw or Hickman.

I could see the coaches keeping Chambers at RB to start, since it's easier to transition from HS to college at RB than it is at LB. Gill(2018 class) would be in essence their 3rd RB(change of pace type). As I see him as a likely redshirt behind Campbell and McCall, and even possibly Hill.

So stocked at Rb right now that we really don’t even need 1 in the class. We’ve got 2 three down backs that the coaches love and an all star type change of pace half back. None of them will get meaningful playing time year 1 and still won’t be the 1st option in year 2. We have Sampson so take care of other needs in 2019 and focus on 20. Taking 2 this cycle is nearly a guarantee that one will transfer or change positions.

That's why the commitment of Chambers at RB was so baffling to me.

What? That was clearly him being proud that his son got his degree.
Yes, the first sentence is clearly that.

The second sentence can be interpreted in two primary ways. The possibility exists that the next challenge he refers to is being the starting QB at Ohio State. Another possibility is he’s referring to the challenge of moving on from Ohio State to something new.

It is unclear, thus my use of “kinda” and “might.”
