We know what the position coaches are bringing in. But Duhart is killing it in recruiting.

PWO from Lakota West. Had just a handful of small offers (Army, Navy, Bucknell, Penn, and EKU)
Says a lot but hard to justify IMO.Yeah, I saw this come across my X feed. Looked into the kid and he just de-committed from the AF Academy a few days ago. Don’t know much about him but he seems to be a proud Ohioan and turning down full-rides to be a PWO says a lot.
I'm with you thereSays a lot but hard to justify IMO.
AF Academy on your resume wouldn’t hurt. And free. And more playing time.
I mean….
I don’t believe most PWO’s are getting NIL $ but I may be wrong.I'm with you there
But on the flipside, some kids just dream of being Buckeyes. Reminds me of Xavier Johnson(not saying he'll see the same level of success). Had similar offers to Miles but wanted to be a Buckeye. And due to NIL, they can still go to college for free.
I thought I read somewhere, that that's the gray area that schools are using to sign more players. Sign up a kid as a PWO, and then provide him with an NIL deal.I don’t believe most PWO’s are getting NIL $ but I may be wrong.
I guess the challenge is that walkons don’t get to use the same meal options, living arrangements, health benefits, etc. I can’t fathom convincing an Ohio State caliber player to walk on citing lack of space, when they could get a scholly somewhere else and transfer in the next year if there is actually mutual interest. Additionally, while I know there has been some success with a few previous walkons, I’d much rather that NIL $ go to current roster players and recruiting, but that’s just me. This kid is taking the opportunity to play at his dream school and is sacrificing much to do so (an honorable thing and respect on his choice), but the chances of him collecting any $ before becoming a contributing player on the field is likely not going to happen.I thought I read somewhere, that that's the gray area that schools are using to sign more players. Is he a defensive back? Seems like a really nice PWO pickup.PWO from Lakota West. Had just a handful of small offers (Army, Navy, Bucknell, Penn, and EKU)
The thing with NIL is, there isn't a salary cap. He can get a "small" NIL deal and still collect say $500-1,000/mo, and have his apartment paid for, that money would be plenty for a college kid to eat from on a monthly basis, and being under 25 he can still be on his parents health benefits. And let's be honest he's not a kid coming to start or even see ST at OSU. He will be a ST player at best, and on average be a practice crash test dummy, and test his talent against some of the best.I guess the challenge is that walkons don’t get to use the same meal options, living arrangements, health benefits, etc. I can’t fathom convincing an Ohio State caliber player to walk on citing lack of space, when they could get a scholly somewhere else and transfer in the next year if there is actually mutual interest.
