tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Sweat, Burrell, Kirk, and Harris all in one place...cannot wait to see our guys put in the work. As an aside, I always love following The Open updates...getting all those elite guys in one event gives you a good idea of how everyone stacks up. I'm very curious to see how Tyler Green does this year, as he is not rated highly at all but could really see a rise with a good performance.

Gallimore for me, from what I've seen/heard. Sweat is my top remaining defensive target, but Gallimore isn't too far behind.
Gallimore is clearly a target for the committed Buckeyes at The Opening and has a lot of buzz after a stand out peformance at camp in Columbus, but Wilkins was an early favorite and is in the midst of an all-time quiet recruitment so I'm curious where they stack up in the eyes of the coaches (and the film evaluators around here).

Birmingham is higher on (or at least thinks it is a more realistic possibility to land) Wilkins, but also said 4-5 DL in the class. I'm curious if they would take both.

Jones
Cornell
Sweat
Gallimore
Wilkins

would be alright with me. Or perhaps both in place of missing on Sweat.

I'd personally prefer two true DTs in this class, since they didn't take any in the '14 class.....'13 had Price (now OL), Munger (injuries) & Hill (love his potential, but also injured last year). I'll be shocked if they don't land at least one.

Wilkins' recruitment has been quiet, but I just found this (247$ on 7/6) that says he's been building a relationship with Coach Johnson and wants to visit over the summer (if not the summer, then definitely in the fall).

I'm with MD, I prefer Gallimore. Better frame and even though the kid is already dominant, he still has a higher ceiling. If there would be room for both though, I would love to see Wilkins in the class (or if Gallimore goes elsewhere). I could see us taking 2 true DTs even with Jones and Cornell possibly moving down in the future since we did not take a DT last year (Thompson may play DT but looks like a SDE at this time).
