tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Just cause I like to play with the numbers (and not to place too much stock in the rankings) I took a look at the defensive recruiting since Meyer has come on board. Next season we could field a D that included:

DL - Washington, Spence, Bosa and Schutt
average rank at their position 3.5

LB - Mitchell, Berger and McMillan
average rank at their position 3.3 (2 if Scout rated McMillan appropriately)

DB - Reeves, Apple, Bell and Webb
average rank at their position 6.25

And FWIW, we could field a second team LB group of Perry, Booker and Hubbard
with an average rank at their position of 6.7

And for anybody who thinks Meyer is too offensive oriented, the numbers on the other side of the ball don't come close to this.

Not quite sure what to take from this given that, with the exception of the DLine, it seems quite far from the actual depth chart. At least right now.
I have no idea what to expect at LB and DB come August 2014.
I guess the point is that Meyer & co. have recruited exceptionally well -- but I don't think anyone has argued with that.

Best guess on how we close? With 19 in and 22 as the number I have seen it would seem that it is:

Lattimore
Smith
Solomon

Hopefully that and if it's 23 Bookser as well (unless Prince decides in the next month or two he would feel like leaving home :sneaky:).

Also wouldn't hate a flip of Quin and/or Brown from UVA. Don't see it happening, but would gladly accept it.
