People were writing off Dontre Wilson b/c he wasn't smiling in the picture with Braxton Miller.

But I guess a smile is better than no smile, just like wearing an OSU t-shirt is better than not wearing one.

Just cause I like to play with the numbers (and not to place too much stock in the rankings) I took a look at the defensive recruiting since Meyer has come on board. Next season we could field a D that included:

DL - Washington, Spence, Bosa and Schutt
average rank at their position 3.5

LB - Mitchell, Berger and McMillan
average rank at their position 3.3 (2 if Scout rated McMillan appropriately)

DB - Reeves, Apple, Bell and Webb
average rank at their position 6.25


And FWIW, we could field a second team LB group of Perry, Booker and Hubbard
with an average rank at their position of 6.7


And for anybody who thinks Meyer is too offensive oriented, the numbers on the other side of the ball don't come close to this.

I've never claimed to be a scholar, but color me confused. Average star rankings of 6.25 & 6.7?
