I'm not a recruiting insider in any fashion. Just looking at the way UFM is going after kids that are not as highly touted as kids tOSU passed up earlier. Kinda seems a bit desparate to me. Almost like the old sayin' "the girls start to look better near closing time." Or some such urban legend homily. Closing with 5*'s is one thing, grasping at 3*'s this late in the game (recruiting game, that is) seems hard. I'm in tlinc's camp when he says that the OL is better than we recruitniks think. As long as they've got enough to run 1's and 2's, we'll be fine. Thin, but fine. I'd rather keep the schollies for the reputed smaller size next year, especially with the 'news' that tOSU is sitting pretty with many of the best in the nation, AND Ohio (who woulda thunk it?) all at the same time. Let's wrap this class up and let the assistants take a vacation, Urban!

Benoit says, "I just booked a plane ticket with Oregon and will take a visit there this weekend."

Benoit says the Oregon staff has been upfront, stating there is no scholarship offer available currently but that one could open up, thus the reasoning for bringing him on a visit.

Interesting news - but don't forget Oregon has 4 soft verbals at the moment including two WRs. But none match Benoit's profile as closely as Wilson.

In any case, I will be killing my cat just after breakfast. Once I have dumped its entrails on the floor I will report back.

IMO, no. This is it with signing day being in a couple days. Plus there will need to be some maneuvering to get to 82 if they do, so no scholarships to bank anyways.

I wouldn't be too sure. This doesn't seem like the kind of staff to bank schollies. There are always guys on the board and if we are still looking for a commit or two then I'm sure the staff feels they have room. These guys do not sleep. I foresee two more guys in the class. If it's not Wilson or Bell or Clark then it wouldn't surprise me to see two out of left field.

It's also not the type of staff that's going to reach on a guy just for the sake of filling a roster spot. I could definitely see them bank a schollie or two considering next year's class is projected to be pretty small and the number of quality recruits we're already in on.
