I don't care what names end up getting filled in for the final spots, as long as one of them says "OT" in front of it and one says "S" in front of it. In a class that already has Jalin Marshall and Ezekiel Elliott in it, I don't get why people are so giddy about a playmaker who wouldn't be lining up outside, when we only have two lineman in the class for a team that isn't exactly bursting at the seams with them as it is. All the playmakers in the world won't amount to a hill of beans if we don't have some earth movers up front.

You are counting the linemen incorrectly.

I will go back to JTs classification of Speed, Big Speed and Power.

And I count 5 DBs in this class.

Agreed on the OT part but not on safety...Thompson is a stud, Burrows can play safety, and at least one of Worley or Lee will play safety. We are set there for the '13 class. Only reason we are still pursuing Bell is because he is elite, not because we have a need in this class. As for OL, we are stocked inside already and I see both Munger (or possibly Price if need be) and Gardner at guard. Lisle is our only tackle prospect on board (who I sometimes think may be a guard prospect anyways, RT at most) and we are thin there, so one of Hunt or Skipper is a must imo.

That being said, I do think we have playmakers in this class. Elliott and Marshall are elite ballers, Baugh is a huge threat catching the ball, and I think Jacobs can be explosive for us. I think the argument is that we need a pure outside WR (we basically have 3 slots/hybrids in Elliott, Marshall, and Jacobs) and Tyrell Robinson fits that mold the staff is looking for. Unfortunately, I see no way we fit 4 in this class. If we could, we take Wilson, Hunt/Skipper, and the Robinsons. However, Tyree could be the odd man out with the numbers situation and it seems they are a package deal.

The Robinsons offer is what really throws a twist in my analysis because I don't see Wilson leaving Columbus next weekend without Urban getting his commitment, which leaves 2 spots max. We absolutely need an OT imo (and likely the staff's opinion), so striking out on Hunt and Skipper would be BAD. However, that is the only scenario I see bringing the Robinsons to Columbus (though I would love to see them here), unless there is some numbers game we can't fathom yet.

Lisle was questioned as a tackle given his usage in HS. He performed admirably in San Antonio at tackle, and that was in a situation where many talented OL get whipped.

OSU could definitely use another one, but if the Robinsons and Wilson want in, I think you have to say yes and address tackle depth next year.

That means that we'll have 8 guys filling 5 spots, at a position that is renown for injuries. I think a lot of people are counting on the fact that Urban can read the future, and knows that each and every one of these kids is going to pan out.

Ah, didn't know Munger was a candidate for the switch. That definitely helps pad things a little. I just hate the idea of going into a season more or less keeping your fingers crossed that the best case scenario is the outcome, and we don't have to sub out any of our lineman.

Wilson and another slot or WR for me. I think our OL is good, and still have some versatility there with Price and Munger in this class. Meyer made it very clear that we did not have the playmakers last year on offense. After a year, he now has more of an idea of what we have adn who can play, but we still need more.

Devin Lauderdale is intriguing, and so are James Clark (need to see where he takes that last visit - us or UF - and if he verbals to Clemson on his visit there). Priester looks pretty good, but I like the others a bit better. Clark then Lauderdale then Priester for me. I am cautiously optimisitic with the other Oregon kids, but think only Wilson may be the only one the defects away - thinking the other stay.

Bell is that wildcard for the 3rd and final spot.

This is my guess as well, and I agree with those above re: the urgent need for OL (as computerbuckesque as it might sound). If multiple linemen suffer injuries, the defecation will hit the rotary oscillator in short order. I want to see Braxton continue to have plenty of time back there as he continues to hone his skills. With all of that said, I feel very confident that UFM will reel in one of Hunt or Skipper. I probably lean slightly toward Hunt based on his all-star game performance, but I haven't seen too much film on Skipper.

In short, gimme an OL and everything else is gravy.

Yep, the staff has told Munger they like him at guard. Your point still stands for OT though imo...Mewhort is great and Decker is on his way to becoming great, but only a recovering Dodson and a freshman in Lisle as true tackles are there to back them up. This year we have Norwell or Hall who could move over to RT and be just fine (both started off at RT), but next year we lose 4 starters and that is where not having more than Lisle in this class becomes an issue from a depth perspective.

Hard for me to disagree but I am really thrown by all the offers to true WR's if the staff isn't placing a premium on landing one. Only thing that makes sense is that indeed 3 more spots are in the works. Same story could be applied to the Robinsons and an OT.

I guess all the WR offers could be back ups to Wilson though so looking at it that way I guess it could be just 2, Wilson and Hunt/Skipper. So hard to tell at this point. One minute I have Smith in at WR and the next I don't. Same story with a few others. Crazy.
