tOSU @ Penn State, Sat Oct 29, 12pm, FOX

If that is the case I hope he abandons
that tactic for, “The Game.” We need to put a stomping on those damn skunk weasels that they will not soon forget. Let them celebrate their September Heismans. Come November we end their damn booodline! Put up a signature win and remind them of their true place in the world: ground to dust beneath our cleats!!
I mean I hope but there's a bit of a track record. Particularly it's important vs ttun because we've got to force them to attempt to throw to keep up.

We can do that by coming out and throwing the ball and being aggressive down the field.

The horizontal throwing game early and running into stacked boxes early would be a huge mistake vs this ttun defense.

There’s something fitting about Clifford passing McSorely on the all time TD list with a garbage time TD pass in a loss to OSU after he threw 4 picks (or 3 picks and a fumble...whatever).

I have a "Penn State FB Thought(s)"......FUCK THEM....they still have the worst fan base of any sport.

INTANGIBLES
Ohio State never blinked in this game, and played like a team that knows it owns Penn State. It fell behind in the fourth quarter and methodically dissected the Nittany Lions the rest of the way. The PSU players performed with plenty of confidence until the Buckeyes’ three-play, 75-yard TD drive and then went completely into a shell — as if they knew they were finished. Which, of course, they were.

OTHER GUY
Ohio State is obviously accustomed to taking everyone’s best shot, and Saturday was no different. At crunch time, the Buckeyes stepped up big time. Coming out of a game that featured such hard hitting and such great athletes (on both sides) with zero turnovers was super impressive. In fact, OSU’s only fumble was meaningless — Stroud was sacked on what was the final play of the first half, so PSU would not have had a possession even if it recovered. The only reason I’m not giving an ‘A’ here is because I don’t think we saw the very best of Ohio State in that game. I was really impressed by Stroud. He's not super athletic but has GREAT pocket awareness and is tremendously accurate.

Ehhhh, What level of asshole do you have to be to rate a day like yesterday as just B+? Flaming? Complete? Total? Fucking? Uppity? Overachieving? Irrational? Drunken?

Wow, they gave the officials a ‘B’.

I did think the game was reffed pretty well. There was the costly tricky-tack call on lining up ‘over the center’, and I’m not sure if they officially reviewed Parker Washington’s one catch, but there wasn’t a lot to complain about either way.
I dunno.....getting 2 chances to call obvious offsides on the same guy and getting it wrong both times is pretty suspect.

They also didn't review Harrison's "Play of the Game" catch to net a first down on a third and 15 with the Bucks still trailing. The ball looks like it might have come out when Harrison hit the ground. My interpretation was that he had control of the ball, and his knee was already down, ergo the ground can't cause a fumble, but a reviewer might have seen it otherwise.

Several PSU players played the game of their lives
  • Clifford
  • P. Washington
  • The secondary
  • Some on the LOS to be sure, but like most fans, I’m not watching the LOS intently on every play
Their DBs got away with premeditated murder. They didn’t get away with anything that OSU was flagged for, to my eyes. They just took better advantage of the way the game was called. Kudos

Their coaches had a better game plan and called a better game, for the most part

The ball bounced their way on more than one occasion. Two tips and still complete? Just wow

Their crowd was more of a factor than Ohio Stadium’s crowd has ever been. Again, kudos

For all that they still lost by double digits

aren’t you glad you’re not them?

It appears that they actually did get those calls correct because the false start was not adjacent to the player who jumped into the neutral zone. if the OL right across from Mustipher (or the OL on either side of that OL) had jumped, it would have been offsides. But because Stover was well down the line from Mustipher, it does not.

So you think he's running shit plays for 3-3.5 quarters of a game against our toughest opponent to date because he's playing 3D chess with everyone? C'mon man.

I probably have a bad take, but I am kind of standing by it. When OSU wants to score, they just score. It's weird how fast it can go, and how can quick they can score when they want to.

I don't actually think that, but I did say to my wife yesterday it almost feels like he knows he can fuck around for 2+ quarters trying to force the run game (or the screen game yesterday) to work because he's that confident in the vertical passing game.

I'm sure it's not true, but it's funny the way it's worked out the past two weeks.
