Big time props to Mason Arnold.

most definitely

Can’t be said enough

practicing enough to be a reliable long snapper is a huge time sink

he was obviously practicing enough, even though his chances of playing must have seemed remote 9 days ago

a unique level of commitment for a backup LS

A backup no longer

At the 12 minute mark, Ryan Day explains the rational for running bubble screens, even if they do not gain yards. Basically, it tires the defense out and opens up the longer pass. I have heard that explanation a few years ago in a different context.
I don’t buy it for a second. First, you run a bubble screen on 3rd and 7 for a gain of -2 yards to tire out the defense? And I watch these plays, a cornerback, safety and maybe an outside linebacker are involved in the play and nobody else. Not buying it.
