The offense Day wants to establish in the first half has been found out. They need to be capable of planning for these run-focused, blitz heavy schemes. Either use more misdirection, better screens, or be willing to throw the ball all over out of the gate. The bad news is they've been very slow to do this. Good news is they have most of the players to fix this. Health is a major concern though.

The defense is still getting gashed too often, and concedes 5 yard runs on first down. Making up for it with TOs but the yardage has to change.

Yes. I think they have decided the answer to a stacked box is to run screens to attack it. Hasn't worked. Pop pass to Egbuka or slant to the tight end? I don't know but we do not execute WR screens here at tOSU, must be an ancient curse.

First time checking into the game thread, I’m assuming “fuck those fucking bubble screens” has been covered in depth already?

It’s crazy how much better letting CJ attack downfield with quick hitting routes works than those fucking bubble screens, and it opens up the run, too.

It shouldn’t be that hard or take that long to adjust. I saw we ran 11 of those fucking bubble screens, and not a single one worked.

And worst of all, we only tried one play that I saw to try to use the bubble screen to open up something else. And if the idea is to keep the middle open by keeping them honest, then don’t run two in a row to kill a drive. DAMNIT I was so frustrated with that shit.

Great win. Awesome finish to the game. JT for president.
