We look better than last year but that's not a great measuring stick to go up against considering their reputation. Only consolation is we won't see another offense with as much talent out wide until maybe MSU???

If you see they way they load the coverage to one side, they have to be calling for a directional kick.

I know coming into this game the stats have shown that unit to be pretty good overall. I don't like it though. The risk outweighs the reward. Kick it into the endzone and get the touchback.

I'm not sure that's much consolation considering what our goals are. this team wants to win championships, and this defense can't do that.

The defensive secondary is this team's weakest link and we can expect teams to exploit it. A couple more touchdowns will be needed if we want style points that help the team break into the top 20.

I don't think there is another team in the league with nearly as much talent at WR as either Cincinnati or Maryland. MSU has a great QB though and a pretty good defensive line with an effective RB. That's where they'll be tough because they can play action and our guys lose their discipline too much. Add that with a stout defense where we might not score 30 and you've got a seriously tough game. And, it's on the road.

What do rankings matter to us right now, though? Even if we win out, that VA Tech loss will keep us out of a playoff. Oregon's success against MSU should be enough to give us hope that we can win a B1G championship this year.
