I don't think there is another team in the league with nearly as much talent at WR as either Cincinnati or Maryland. MSU has a great QB though and a pretty good defensive line with an effective RB. That's where they'll be tough because they can play action and our guys lose their discipline too much. Add that with a stout defense where we might not score 30 and you've got a seriously tough game. And, it's on the road.

Unfortunately, you don't need to have great receivers when they are running wide open down the field.

I think so too. I have a friend who is a big Cincinnati fan and he says Cincinnati's secondary sucked when Combs was there. Combs may be a good recruiter but the proof is on the field. I think it's time to find a coach that can teach our secondary some discipline.

Honestly Meyer should just rehire Heacock. His defenses were always disciplined and played hard for 60 minutes.

Really having Heacock as the interim HC after Tressel then reverting to DC with Meyer might have been more ideal in hindsight.
