Game Thread tOSU at Wiscy, Nov 17th, 3:30 ABC

Just got back from the game. Phew! That was not what I expected. A few quick, random observations/thoughts -
Wisky D did a great job containing Braxton
The O laid a big egg - mostly the receiving corps playing like they had no freaking clue that a football game was being played.
Hyde runs like a man, we should have fed him the ball a little more
#54 was on beast mode. Defense as a whole played a heck of a game
Shelley Meyer was jumping up and down all nervous in OT, and couldn't bring herself to watch the action on the field. Obviously, she'd prefer to not have her husband go through many more of these nailbiters.
Wisky fans around us (Section U) were mostly nice, but once the game was over brought out their true colors, saying things like 'enjoy your bowl game, Suckeyes!'. One guy started yelling 'Big Ten champs' and high fiving other Wisky fans. Congrats...I guess? :slappy:
Jump around is overrated. The wave is a better tradition, IMO

Its M*****an week, and we better show up as a team Nov 24.

Last but not the least, what's the best thing about 11 and 0? A change to go undefeated!!! Go Bucks!:oh:

If this offense shows up next week....

1) Michigan now has a QB who can throw the ball.

2) Shoe lice is now playing where he should have been all year.

3) the concept of defense has returned to Ann Arbor

4) they lost their best running back - but Lice more than made up for the loss

5) of course this was against an Iowa defense that resembles Indiana

6) but that Indiana offense put a lot of points on the board against the buckeyes.

7) I liked the bucks much better before this game.

I stopped reading at #1, considering you've not taken into account the piss-poor defenses DG as faced.

Urban Meyer > Brady Hoke

Feel better now?

While this is clearly true, the staff better come up with a better game plan than they had for today.

Agree completely. Although I'm very happy with our win in Camp Randall, we were clearly out-coached on the offensive side of the ball. Play calling was questionable at best, and we made very little adjustments when Wiscy started taking away the short WR passes in the flat. Not sure if this is Herman's responsibility, but we need better coaching next week.

all they have to do is remember we are awesome at running the ball INSIDE and OUT. Not OUT and INSIDE.

Don't even bother doing anything other than Play Action in the passing game either. Just don't have the talent out wide and that part of Braxton's game just isn't there yet.

You must be a joy to be around at Thanksgiving ...

"I'm Thankful for my family even though they only call when they want something."

"I'm Thankful for my job even though my boss doesn't appreciate my input."

"I'm Thankful for the strength that has been given me to never complain about the constant pain in my knee while I am standing right now."

I actually thought the butt-ugly douche-socket had a pretty good gameplay today, breaking the mold.

He what???

Hey, credit where it's due, Wisconsin played pretty well, given the circumstances at QB. But the team scored the tying TD in spite of the coaching, not because of it (particularly with the God-awful clock management), and you may disagree, but it appeared to me that the coaching staff was calling plays with more interest in getting Ball the record than in winning the game in the 4th quarter and OT. I credit the tough kid playing QB and the kids in general for the effort, not the coaching staff, for tonight's game.

Well, yeah, I did think the team was worried about setting the record and it showed. Everyone in the stadium knew they were going to run it up the middle. I would've like to have seen a bootleg by Phillips there or at least a playaction.

I was talking more about the defensive gameplan they put together for Miller. That was probably the best the Wisconsin defense has played all season. The overtime letdown was disappointing though.

Like I've said, I feel a lot better about heading to Penn State next weekend after this game.
