Game Thread tOSU at Texas, Sat. Sept 12, 7:30 pm ET, ABC

I'm actually much more concerned with the secondary than the DL. I thought the DL was mostly fine until Patricia decided to handicap them and put them in a 3 man front shell most of the 2nd half.

Just too many bad lapses by the secondary that can't happen in games like this, they got bailed out big time by those 2 drops where the dude was comically wide open both times.

Yeah. the game could have gone sideways early if it wasn't for the drops and early turnovers. It very easily could have been the Bucks in a big hole instead of the Horns.

I remember a year when in the second game of the season Ohio State lost to Va Tech. I also remember the total meltdown afterwards. Ohio State went on to win the National Championship that year.
I also remember a year when Ohio State lost a game early on against Oregon and the meltdown that followed. And then they committed the unforgivable sin and lost to the team up North and the fans wanting Day (2nd winningest game percentage in CFB history) to be fired. He just didn't have what it takes, they said. I'm pretty sure Ohio State went on to win the National Championship that year as well.
Life lesson: Don't talk out of your a$$. Just Sayin.

Damn I keep thinking about this game lol…

Just so many chances to put it away.

I think mainly I’m worried the team will miss the playoffs. My position on OOC games are known but if we go 9-3 and get left out because we had the balls to play Texas then OSU needs to get out of all future OOC games until there’s a 24 team playoff

well i found Sark’s burner account here….

9-3 … just depends on who the other two loses are to and by how much… if we get Purdue’d we don’t belong in the playoffs regardless of this game. We lose close respectable games to highly ranked/rated teams we’ll be fine.

I think getting in at 9-3 is going to take a lot of luck regardless for anyone. Really need there to not be too many 1/2 loss teams waiting in line.

Yeah I get it don’t lose to Florida. If they’re 10-2 they just might have got in.

I have my doubts we can lose 2 more (even if they’re ranked losses) and still get in.

I wouldn't count on it. 3 losses you should just expect not to get in.

Recency bias would be very against us as well because the games we might lose are all in late October or November. I just can't see us getting in with 3 losses, with 2 coming later in the year unless there is a comical amount of dysfunction across college football.

Honestly, I don't have a problem at all with not getting in at that point.

The whole season is now the IU, USC, Oregon stretch and now Oregon is a liability.

I know Iowa is tricky and The Game is The Game but it's those 3 games and the jury is still out on USC.

Don't have some kind of Purdue/Florida game and win one of IU/USC and we should be fine for playoff.

Really? So we take a chance lose by 1 point on the road. Then let’s say the other two are close games.

You’re good with the bucks staying home even though they’re a top 10 team?

You may be right that maybe they wouldn’t deserve to get in but does that not reward wins no matter who it’s against?
