They were saddled with a 3 man line in a shell for most of the 2nd half. And when they did go 4 DL they fucking dropped Kenyatta into coverage. I can't fully blame the players when Patricia dealt them a beyond shitty hand most of the 2nd half

The team’s going to look a lot different in 4 games. They rotated more last night than in most MAC games, and they had to due to heat, but it did them no favors. The starting 3 WRs will be playing most of the snaps going forward, and at some point Alford, Pettijohn, and maybe Wilder will be starters.

My main concern is the OL and passing game under pressure. It looked better last night than the end of ‘25, but it’s not there yet. Then again, it’s the 2nd game. They will continue to be blitzed until they can prove it’s ineffective, but unlike last year, they have much more time to solve it. If they can, OSU will be the premier offense in the country and teams will have to pick their poison.

I also like the kicker and don’t like how many fans have called it another ST disaster. He’ll miss some, but he can hit it from 50-55 and that’s not something OSU has had in decades

One thing Im not certain on, is that this team will look that much different in 4 games, OSU will definitely play worse teams and look better. That being said, one of the themes with Day (just an observation by me, I could be wrong) is that whatever issues the team has, typically doesn't get resolved. There's enough talent to pick up 10 wins a year (although this year I'm not so sure), but what has Day done to make you think any of that will ACTUALLY get cleaned up over the course of the season. Every season feels like a fight to out do our deficiencies, not a fight to fix these crippling problems (kicker, OL, playing too tight with bad timing).

I'm NOT in the camp of Fire Day at all, thats ridiculous, he's still learning on the job, but it's possible this is just who he is. The deck is stacked is every year, and we have a surprisingly short amount of national success considering the talent. And for the record, that particular issue is not on Day alone, this is a theme with Buckeye football since I've been watching, both Urb and Tress left a lot of great opportunities unfulfilled.

It's a bit torturous being an OSU fan. ALWAYS in the mix (which is a blessing we as fans likely take for granted), but rarely taking home the big prize (given the talent and the number of chances I mean, OSU has still outperformed everyone besides bama in that regard). Nature of the beast I guess. Good news is, OSU seems to step it up when they're completely counted out. The close calls in 02, the QB mess in 14, and the Michigan L in 24...hopefully we can add last night's conundrum to the list of things we thought would ruin a season.

I believe, but I'm extremely cautious about too much blind optimism.

As I’ve gotten older, I don’t lose nearly as much sleep over football games and I’m far less likely to really get upset or spend to much time agonizing over it the following day. Life is too short to really waste my energy getting worked up over a dumb game played by a bunch of kids half my age.









BUT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT?!?!


SO many little things they could have done in the last 20 minutes to put that game away and they didn’t do any of them. God damn, a loss like this would be a lot easier to digest if it wasn’t so much like every other loss.

How many fucking times do you need to lose like this before you figure it the fuck out, coach.

Shit. Get it the fuck together.

There was always a chance that we'd lose this game. The nut punch is in losing it by giving up 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. One of the most depressing losses I've witnessed in 40 years of being a Buckeye, almost at the level of the Debacle In The Desert or 2024 tsun.

Even the combination of a brandy manhattan, half a bottle of a good Sablet and the meat coma from a NY Strip with a bone marrow & shallot sauce couldn't get me happy for this shit.

Man, you lost me at "still learning on the job"

This is Day's 8th season as head coach. We are well beyond the "learning on the job" claim stage

Day is a great collector of talent but I think he's showing he just doesn't have it to be a great major college head coach. The 2024 run never happens without the players damn near the revolting. That playoff run is looking more and more like a one off than the norm.

I wasn't using it as an excuse, just a factual observation. I'm not using THAT as the justification for not being in the fire Day camp. That was not an attempt to defend him.

I'm definitely in the camp of wondering if 24 was a freak occurrence more than anything. We shall see

There's no running Day off. Ohio State fans always think they'll get the hottest coach out there, and post-Woody, they've only gotten him once (Urban). Fire Day, and the job becomes as toxic as the Presidency became when Wexner ran off Johnston.

Weather he built up "Chachet" or not, you saw worse things happen to Ohio State. Don't try to rationalize your way around it.

Also, "Winning the 2024 natty is the worst thing that happened to Ohio State in my lifetime." I get it. You live in Bizzaro world where winning National Championships are bad and losing to Michigan and taking away any chance from winning a National Championship is not so bad. I have to ask you something. Were you rooting against Ohio State against Notre Dame in the National Championship game?
