Game Thread tOSU at Sparty - Sep 29, 3:30 ET, ABC

I doubt they're going to clap during an away game anyways.
Why not? It's loud as hell. It's a lot louder than the QBs voice. Usually on road games everyone just watches for the snap anyway, and the center and QB are on the same page. So the clap may just initiate a silent snap count. We shall see, though.

Not as good as last week's, really, but I can only work with what material is given to me.

Seldom have I had less of a feel for what will happen in a game OSU is playing.

Sparty has the advantage of home field (the first road game for the Bucks), and they have that defense. On the other hand, their passing game is something close to pathetic, but one gets the sense that if Maxwell can complete a few passes in critical situations, they can be really good with Bell on the ground.

Ohio State has shown glimpes of offensive brilliance, but can totally disappear for long stretches - 2 quarters or more. If they appear for even 50% of their possessions, I like their chances of scoring. On defense, their giving up of yards, big plays, and an inability to get off the field borders on the inexplicable, but I get the sense that having only the threat of a big back plowing through them is the one thing they will be able to handle. They need to take TE Sims away from Maxwell.

So, this game comes down to Ohio State having a higher percentage of their possessions ending in some kind of score rather than a punt, and the Ohio State defense controlling Bell, making Maxwell beat them through the air, and limiting Sims.

Too many variables to know what is going to happen. You throw in TO's and special teams big plays, and it's impossible to predict with any certainty - which is what is great about this particular game.

Something keeps telling me that Coach UFM knows this game is huge, and has been holding back stuff just for Sparty. I hope so. I see the potential in this Buckeye team to be really, really good. I'm more than ready to see it on the field.

Really looking forward to this one. Love getting into conference and I'm curious to see how this team will play away from the Shoe. Frankly, I think they looked a little bored last week, or maybe it was just me.

Fuck 'em up, Bucks!
