Game Thread tOSU at Purdue, Noon ET Nov 12, BTN

The defense looked tired just about the entire game.

I'm kind of wondering if the defensive team is worn out. That doesn't excuse things, but a lot of those missed tackles were reaching for the guy instead of moving their feet and getting into position. The positioning sucked out loud too, but that's what Purdue does to teams.

As for the offense, they looked good on 4 drives today. 4 out of like 12. That's not going to be good enough in any sense or scenario.

I can't wait until there is an offensive scheme that puts the players in the best position to succeed. That hasn't happened since 2006 and only then for 2006.

Asked Jim Bollman why Buckeyes don't throw more short/midrange passes. Said those require precision.

Preface this as it is NOT a defense of the offensive gameplan & play-calling:

I'll say this for the short/medium passes across the middle.....when the throw is off target or the QB misreads the defense, the results can be a whole lot uglier than when that happens on a longer pass.

There's a reason why OSU doesn't throw interceptions for touchdowns. Outside of 2006, I can't remember the OSU passing game ever effectively exploiting the middle of the field on a consistent basis, but they also don't commit turnovers for touchdowns.

When the offense is built around avoiding high-risk plays, you get this hot mess of a passing game.

In my IMO....

Again, not a defense....I hate it as much as everyone else. :(

@BCastOZone CJ Barnett said there was another miscommunication on 3rd down pass in OT. Said "maybe guys weren't paying attention."

Asked Jim Bollman why Buckeyes don't throw more short/midrange passes. Said those require precision. Implication is OSU not very precise

If you practice precision passing then said precision passing will improve.

I would literally like to see us run tight end screens over and over and over again until the team proves they can stop it. Like, EVERY damn TE screen I've ever seen from this team has gone for at least 20+ yards. I remember Arkansas looking like they had never seen one of those plays before. Nebraska looked equally befuddled. Seriously Bollman, just run ONE play over and over again until they can stop it.
