tOSU at Nebraska, Nov 6th, 12pm ET, FOX

The last two years showed what his ideal offense is. Run the ball 50-60% of the time, deep PA, long throws to the sideline to keep the defense honest. Sermon did not have the talent of Henderson but had great vision and OSU was able to pound the ball without running Fields often. Henderson will develop that with time.

I don't think the execution is there on the OL. Way too many blown blocks inside by PJJ or Wypler. Other than that, the play calling is stagnant. There were a few drives where they mixed it up and ran counters, to the edge, etc. but it's 90% inside zone, an RPO, (which seemed to be the most successful play) and a bootleg to the TE. There is no bread and butter running play right now and it's glaring.

Because it's much harder to run without a TE to block. Also makes it harder to tell what you're going to do. Those naked boot TE throws are one of the few plays keeping the D from teeing off.

No one here disagreeing with you after the past few weeks, and the playoffs are an afterthought if the offense doesn't unfuck itself.
It is like we need a hybrid of Day’s pass savvy offense married with Woody’s dogged instance to the run. A happy marriage of both and the determination to understand what is working offense wise during the game taking game conditions and time management into account.

Ironically we might be better off if tsun keeps winning.. stays in top 4 so we can leapfrog

With todays events, we're probably still on outside looking in

1 loss B1G champ OSU would be in in almost any conceivable scenario, imo.

CFP has shown how little they think of OU and UC.

No we will be #4. Cincy did nothing behind us and Sparty lost in front of us.

Agreed. They have showed their cards for OU and Cincy, #2 lost (to an underrated team) and they have shown they value wins against teams in good conferences. Nebraska has been in all of their games this year, they just can’t close the deal, but they play good ball alas, not mistake free. We should be #4.

Apologies if this was already addressed.. missed most of the game but it sure seems like the offense is …. not good… I wonder if after the last couple of weeks Day will take an honest look at the O like he did with the D after that Tulsa game? Something has to change we can’t continue to be this this predictable and continue to win…

Teams didn’t have to focus on Mac Jones to run either last year…
Jones was never touted as a run threat. Either way. Lies on the line and play calling
Not that he’s scared to take a hit, but running isn’t his game. Not sure where people aren’t getting that. Just because he had 50+yd TD run last year against backups doesn’t make him a running QB. Day went after him for his arm, that was always his strength. And in HS he would scramble only if needed, but he rarely did. Stroud is a pass first, pass second, and throw out of bounds QB. It’d be nice to see him scramble when it’s wide open, but he’s not Fields, nor will he ever be
He isn't Haskins either. Tuck it and go after a certain count. Or throw away

In looking at the stats you would have expected Ohio State to win by a bigger margin. Ohio State outplayed Corn in just about every stat. I'll say the difference makers in Corn's favor were Martinez's running, Stroud's 2 INTs, and Ohio State's 3 FGs in lieu of TDs.
