The biggest problem is that teams do not have to even plan for a Stroud run and they can focus on RB

I agree, if he was more like JTB he would have to do that. But he's not and he'd have to keep 5+ times to make a defense 2nd guess. That's a lot of hits on a guy who had a dislocation in his shoulder and isn't the size of Fields.

He will run more I think, both on called options and some scrambles, but they need a better answer than hoping he'll threaten the defense enough to overcome fundamental blocking problems.

Seems scared to take a hit. Needs confidence. And that means smashing a face. Including his own. Play scared. Get hurt for real.

Stroud weighs 8-9 pounds less. It's not that big of a difference.

The real problem is there is no rhythm. Scrambles would be nice, but the over-arching issue is the offense hasn't been in rhythm since the 1st half of the Indiana game.

Kevin Wilson: Are you sure you want to call another pass play up 6 in the 4th quarter?

Not that he’s scared to take a hit, but running isn’t his game. Not sure where people aren’t getting that. Just because he had 50+yd TD run last year against backups doesn’t make him a running QB. Day went after him for his arm, that was always his strength. And in HS he would scramble only if needed, but he rarely did. Stroud is a pass first, pass second, and throw out of bounds QB. It’d be nice to see him scramble when it’s wide open, but he’s not Fields, nor will he ever be
