I don't know how you stay with Baus after this game. He'll face more pressure in our conference game than he faced today, and that does not bode well based on what we've seen so far. Braxton has to start, and if he doesn't...seeing Baus on the sideline laughing it up instead of focused and fired up with the way the offense was playing...that really did not help my opinions of the situation. Fick needs to forget feelings, and Joe needs to realize its about working towards the future.

Yeah, that was absolutely infuriating to me.

Did you guys really expect this team would not experience some difficult times this year?

Tumultuous off season
Young New HC
No proven QB
Young, Young, did I say young team
Key veteran players suspended for 5 games

You had to believe there would be some tough times to push through. It is one game and one they can certainly learn from. We still have a long season to go and the team really needs the fans to stay behind them.

I am sure Bucknuts is flipping right now...Stay Classy BP...

This....

I was hopeful but we just lost way to much on Offense. We had our opportunities with the missed TD to Stoney and the missed Pick 6 to Bryant. But I had no idea our passing game would struggle like this.

Apparently Fickell didn't realize how hard it really was for JT to win with defense and special teams. #1, the special teams on this team are anything but through 3 games, and second, Penn State tried that for almost a decade where the fielded a highly competitive defense with a horse abortion of an offense and they had the worst decade under Paterno. People will now start to finally understand how hard it actually was for JT to do what he did.

This is almost ALL on the QBs. The defense was shell shocked the first quarter but they made more than enough plays for us to win this. The offensive line was fantastic tonight, opened some big holes for the RBs and gave the QBs plenty of time in the pocket.

I honestly can't recall a worse QB performance. Zwick and Todd Boeckman probably pass for 300 yards behind this offensive line tonight.

Woof...that felt a lot like 2004. :ohwell: That said, anybody should have been able to see that kind of performance coming. Inexperience at QB, RB, WR, and some key spots = rebuilding season. We've just grown so used to the success that we forgot every program goes through this every few years...it's just been since 2004 for us. Even so, as low as it seems right now, we will never sink to the depths that scUM has since 2006.

Admittedly, I have serious concerns with Fick's long term viability here after that performance. Might be in a little over his head. But, this is an experienced staff and that was just a horrific game plan all around. Anyway...regroup and on to the next one.

This. People really short change just how good Craig really was. Craig wasn't as good as Troy or Pryor by any means, but he was better than anything not named those 2 in the past 20 years

Well, for all those years blaming Tressel for Tresselball and inefficiency in the red zone - the joke's on us. It was Bollman all along.

The freshmen played like freshmen today.

Our minor league pitcher can't hold his water when the other team says "Boo!".

Our talented frosh QB has to be confused with all the "you're in, you're out, etc."

Nessler said they were told by the coaches at halftime "we're going to find the guy with the hot hand and go with him". What they did was find the guy who already had the ice cold hand and waste any opportunity they had of winning the game by going with him. Yeah, Braxton turned the ball over, but he also moved the ball. At least there was a chance with him.

Oh yeahm, and Jordan Hall was awesome.
