Deja vu from 2008:

-Bad loss with no touchdowns on national stage in first road game of the year
-Struggle the week earlier to a MAC team
-Key players out injured/suspended rob the team of it's established identity
-Flip flop between the senior and freshman QBs with painfully different offensive playbooks with obvious gimmick plays for the "mobile" QB
-Difficult decision to decide to start the hot-shot frosh

Definitely miss JT in this situation. :(

I'm hoping that deja vu continues for the rest of the season because we still went to a BCS bowl

Dang I got my first negative rep-ding for saying both QBs played bad and Hall played good :( (and for calling out the Miller lovers and JB haters as I see it.). Just got tired of hearing the call for Miller before the game even started or every time JB took a snap. Sheesh I thought I was listening to Gator fans announcing the 2nd coming of the Tebow-Messiah for awhile there. As much as people said that Braxton needed some time in to get the flow of the game, people were ready to drop JB after the 1st errant pass. Yes I know he is an "old" 5th yr senior, but as far as I am concerned he had only a slight edge on Braxton in experience, as slim as it may be.

Of course, by the end of the game, I think he needed to be removed because he failed the "1st half offensive flow test" and the "2nd half see if anything changed from the 1st half test". On the other hand, 2 INT didn't help Miller's case so the game was mostly a wash for me once I knew that Miami figured out we couldn't throw with either QB.

So I gave Joe his shot. The WHOLE game..and he really didn't come through so maybe its time for a change next week. Having Miller in since Game 1 may or may not have changed the outcome of this game, but I believe in giving people some chances until they use them up.

Tress would've certainly taken a knee at the end of this one if he were in Golden's shoes. I found myself missing JT tonight. Is that strange? LOL!

I guarantee you that he doesn't. You don't knee it to give it back to the other team. You run a running play up the middle in that situation, which was exactly what Golden did.

I gotta ell you guys, that was a pathetically offensive show by both teams.

I was rather shocked by the lack of offensive production by OSU - our secondary isn't THAT good.
Just got home from the game, showered up, but really don't feel up to reading 100+ pages.
Overall, fans were well-behaved, we had a 5-car-wide tailgate going, bookended by OSU fans, so we invited 'em over to eat+drink, as they only had small coolers with drinks and we were, well,
packing 3 grills, 10 tables, (2) generators running 4 fans, at least a dozen coolers, with 3 being the truck-box-wide coolers.

Both defenses looked great, OSU D-line was pretty stout - but, as Gator says, offense was offensively offensive on both sides.

I know. It is just irritating that Hall, Howard, and Brown get 2 games and Harris and Spence get 1 game.

Oh well. Once you put yourself at the mercy of the NCAA you really can't complain about the outcome.

This loss wasn't about the NCAA, it was about an inept passing game and poor game plan offensively. We can hope that lessons are learned and learned quick or this will be a long season....which would be shameful considering the talent we field each Saturday.

It was nice to see that Golden has instilled some class in Miami. That was the best sportsmanship I've ever seen from a Hurricanes team. I still find their fans nauseating, however.

I will not agree 100% - WTF was with the timeout with :38 left in the game??
Kneel, run, pass, DON'T call a timeout. And do NOT kick a field goal.

Respect, gents - it's about respect.
That TO pissed me off majorly.

If you didnt see this coming you know less than LLLLLLyodd Carr. We had some chances but this team is VERY young. In all aspects. I hope some of you are not freaking out. Look what we lost/dont have. (insert HOF players and a coach) I know this team is deep, but we're not THAT deep. I saw some good things. I saw some bad things. We need a good road win this year and I'll be happy. Huskers or Vulverines. either or. Of course i wanna beat the skunks.

Oh, the Walmart Vulverines are out in FULL effect. "you cant beat a team we "killed" (MSU vs. ND) ( yes "killed" ) I saw one person say, "That SEC speed got the buckeyes again" WOW i love it!!!!

No problem. The problems faced by Ohio State tonight were caused by our coaching staff, not yours.

Its hard to see a passing game that bad coming even if you expected a bad loss you would think we would have thrown the ball better than that

Thanks for the respectful words.

Being on the other side of it, it didn't bother me. The Buckeyes should have stopped them. That score was deserved.

Thats a good point. Not many are going to see it that way and most will see it as "blind loyalty" to the older guy. Sometimes as a coach you have to let that older guy slit his own throat. He has to be given the chance to be bad or show the rest of the players/coaches that he is not the guy for the job. You put a new kid in there with a group of older guys that have that "respect" for their other buddy and shit can hit the fan quick. Boeckman comes to mind but thank god we won for the most part that year. Losing makes everything seem worse than what it really is and winning can cover up alot of flaws.

I'm not bothered by that at all. If they had run a gimmick play or thrown the ball to score, then it would have been classless. Golden wants to be ranked, so he's going to take as many points as he can get.
