I'm not much of a tactician on formations, etc but I thought I would take a stab this week. I expect a lot of dime formation with 4 on the DL, Shazier the lone LB roaming the middle of the field and 6 in the backfield: Bryant, Barnett, Roby, Grant, Reeves (these 5 seem obvious) and the 6th maybe Apple? Or I would expect some type formation with the 6th man in the "backfield" being whichever of Powel or Bell has better cover skills. Again....I am admittedly a hack at this......so chime in. We certainly have great personnel for this type of arrangement and seems the best to counter an all out air raid. If you play one lone LB in the middle they better be FAST and we have that in Shazier. I like too that we still have 4 on the D Line to bring pressure. I really expect this to be our base formation on Saturday.
Perennial champion, De Salle, is right there in the East Bay Area.Over at Bearinsider, they mentioned 150 recruits (commits and offers) of theirs that will be at the game. If any of them were on our radar, this would help as well.
If the Bucks pull that off, it will be a masacre out at Cal Memorial Stadium.
Especially since I read most passes from Goff were released in less than 2.2 sec.5+ sacks is a bit too optimistic dont you think?
You're right but it seems like Fickell goes into the 'prevent' once we get a good lead.If we pull ahead, they'll have to abandon the dink and dunk offense and go for the long ball....thus more sacks should happen
I should have said called of the dogs..Buffalo and SDSU had better 2nd halves than first. You're right but it seems like Fickell goes into the 'prevent' once we get a good lead.
