tOSU 73 vs N Carolina 77 (in NYC)

Tough shooting night. Great effort at the end, but can't dig that hole. I still like this team. Looks like right now a bigger team can pass over the top, and will create mismatches on the inside... three 7-footers have left in three years... is what it is. Bucks will challenge for B10 regular season and tourney champs... could be a 25+ win season, 2-3 in the tourney... at that point, with some good shooting and this D, anything can happen.

Our star struggled tonight and we struggled tonight...

This is the one reason why I am not a fan of Turner at the pg...I don't mind it for times, but he didn't create for anyone, he only had 1 assist and 10 turnovers...

I think we are the better team...obviously if we knock down our open looks early in the game, we win...

Died by the 3 tonight...We are going to have our struggles at times if jumpers are not going down, but we needed to get out and run a little bit better, and make their big men get up and down with us...

Many more thoughts on this game, but those are the two big ones, Turner at the point and the lack of knocking down shots...but we have talent and in the grand scheme this game isn't a huge loss...could build confidence for us the way we finished the game, but also showed that we have lots of things to work on...

thank jesus we have another great basketball mind here fellas! well said. and Cal is no easy team either. christopher and Randle are 2 great players and randle has the best handles in the country he had a great game today with 27 pts on 9-15 shooting. he will be one we will need PJ to run around with across the floor. and playing ZONE vs CAL will be very risky b/c they have 3-4 guys that can shoot very well. man to man would be the way to go i think

Buckeyes were just too cold from the field in the first half (actually first 30 minutes), and couldn't recover. Great effort, though. And I can't get too upset with ET's 10 turnovers given his 20 point, 10 board performance. He was able to score when nobody else could.

We won't see Buford and Diebler this cold very often. Love the team, bright future. And I love that PJ Hill! Great improvement over one season since the beginning of last year.

well, the first 30 minutes were pretty ugly, but there's a lot to be encouraged about the last ten minutes though... you live by the jumper, you die by it, and the lid never came off the bucket... all in all, i think it could be a great teaching moment for Matta. let's hope the kids forget about the first 30 and build on the last ten. GO BUCKS!

i still hear the echo of the refs whistle.......dicky v said it best. foul foul to to foul foul foul to to to. sloppy play but this will be a great learning curve for the boys. after 35 minutes of sloppy play and they still had a chance. If only there were 3 minutes left.

I admitedly didn't watch the last 8 minutes. I missed Mirror Lake for the game and I'm a tad salty. When Diebler, Buford and Turner aren't scoring, you have no chance against a half decent team, let alone UNC. When you play that sloppy (fouls, turnovers, watching other players get the rebounds like last year), you have no chance against a half decent team, let alone UNC. When the game is nearing it's end and Turner has more turnovers then points and nobody can even make a free throw...yeah. I wish I would have watched the last 8 minutes but it was just too ugly to watch. I think they just had an off night though, we are much better than that...absolutely nothing was going well. I just wish they would've picked a different night to be off though, because UNC is a heck of a team.

Since this was the first loss I went easy but I suggest you all read the forum rules as to acceptable language. A word to the wise so to speak.
Here is the addy for it.

Words like pathetic, embarrassment, pitiful, etc carry a connotation that we do not welcome around here when it comes to discussing tOSU sports.

I saw those words quite a few times tonight.

Didn't get to see the game tonight, but saw it was 75-70 with :20 seconds left in the 2nd half... That instills A LOT of promise about this years team. I mean, let's face it. Ohio State will probably never be pulling in 3-4 McDonald's All Americans on a yearly basis, but we don't need to. If we can compete with them, that's all that matters. That being said, I'm very excited about this season.. And watch out for Ohio State next season as well! :osu:
