Holding Purdue to 28% shooting in the first half. If we keep this up, and ET gets really going in the second half--I think we win comfortably.

One official kept the count, but Jeremie took his dribble to the other side of the court where an official started a new count. It was a 5 second call but I can't fault Jeremie for it. The official who DID NOT make the call butchered it by starting a new count giving Jeremie a false sense of time.

Me neither. I wasn't upset with Simmons. I was upset with the call.

As BB73 noted, it's an outdated rule. There's no need for it in the shot clock era.

Diebler and Buford keep shooting this way, we'll not only win today but make some serious noise in the dance.

ET has to keep his composure. Get BJ and Dallas involved underneath and keep the defensive pressure on.

Yes.

The few open looks PU got, they hit.

ET didn't wait until the second half to get cooking today, Diebs and Buford were smooth. The only reason the lead isn't larger is silly turnovers; just bad passes.

Take care of the ball and we can take this thing.

I agree, although it is a rule, and it helps teams at the ends of games. I will say, it was a 5 second call. Jeremie was just lead to believe he had a new count.

That scares me in the tournament though if we play a high pressure defensive team. Jeremie and PJ are both very suspect ball handlers, not because they can't dribble, but beither has the quickness to create seperation. The best thing that could happen in our tournament draw is to be matched against teams that play zone or a non-high pressure man defense. I cringe to think what a Duke defense would do to our ball handlers.

The flip side of that, is you hope for defenses like that if you have a PG like Mike Conley who can shred his man with one step. Ty Lawson laughs at defenders trying to get in his jock. Just an observation...
