tOSU 60 Michigan St. 67 (Final)

Was the PJ Hill that played over 10 minutes today (including the final 3 minutes) the same PJ Hill who wasn't good enough to give Butler 30 seconds of rest earlier in the season?

I'm not slamming PJ at all. I have been beggin for him to get minutes to rest Butler all season. He played a solid game while in there. It just bugs me when we are in the most important game of the year and you throw a combination out there that hasn't played together all year. (Butler and Hill in the game at the same time for the final 2-3 minutes).

Well, Hill had to play in the first half because we couldn't have afforded to let Butler pick up his 3rd foul. As for his minutes in the second half...I can only assume Matta had seen enough of Turners poor decisions and Diebler's ineffectiveness. Not a slam on the other guys, but just trying to get a spark I guess.

The tourney doesn't seem like the time to "try a new guy out" so to speak. But I'll guess that since PJ was solid in the first half (when we had to play him) that he decided to give him a shot at the end as well.

Just my opinion as always. :osu:

Diebler didn't have chance to be ineffective. He played about 3 minutes...had a rebound, a turnover, and a missed 3. I agree with your logic though.

I don't know...just throwing one out there. When Diebs was in the game he didn't provide a spark at all. It's tough to come off the bench and be a spark. But the one thing you can't do coming off the bench is turn it over right away and throw up an airball.

But you're right...he didn't get much of a chance to get into the flow in such limited minutes. Sad that at the end of the year, Matta is still trying to figure this team out huh?
